IIM Rohtak completed the admission process of its eighth batch of post-graduate programme in management on 29th June, 2017. The batch size increased by 70 percent to 262 students, while the girl count increased by 200 per cent as compared to the previous batch.
MYRA School of Business successfully concluded its 4th Convocation Ceremony on 24th of June 2017 at its lush sylvan campus at Mysore. Mr. Santosh Desai, MD & CEO- Futurebrands India graced this occasion as the Chief Guest along with and Dr. Ramasastry Ambarish and Mr. Ranjan Mathai both members of the Governing Board, MYRA where graduating MYRAcles or MYRA’s student alumni were presented with their respective PGDM and PGPX qualifications.
In an exciting initiative for enhancing MICA’s connect with Ahmedabad city and the community, MICA invited a panel of some of the most successful and illustrious leaders of Ahmedabad from various walks of life to engage in an invigorating and enlightening discussion on their vision and journey of leaders and institutions in the city. The illustrious panel members included Padmashri Reema Nanavaty, Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA); Abhay Mangaldas, The House of MG; Sushama Oza, Director, Strategy & Sustainability at Adani Foundation, Ahmedabad; Indu Capoor, Founder-Director of Centre for Health, Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA); Debashish Nayak, Founder-Director of Centre for Heritage Management, Ahmedabad University; Each of these members have made significant contributions towards shaping the city of Ahmedabad, touched many lives in the society, and worked for the betterment of the city and its people. They shared their experiences and journey of success in the city. A unanimous thought amongst the panellists was the belief of the people of Ahmedabad in giving back to the society and how they have always played a crucial role in providing opportunities and supporting their work for social causes.
A Startup Showcase event was organised by MICA Incubator to promote entrepreneurial energies of budding entrepreneurs, which included presentations on early stage business by students and youth community of the prevailing startup ecosystem. Startups like MoiPot, Algaari, Flashtr, Hostec, LegalWiz, Lernr, Tupic, Enerlyf, InnerSense, Stardust Tech, Dweek Studios, CricHeroes, Indolytics, Smart Mask, Ora Machineries and Pi Nutrition, presented their startups. The showcased startups included businesses from various domains ranging from an online platform for famous Indian snacks to an exclusive photo sharing app competing with the best prevalent in the market. A diverse mix of 15 startups presented before the Chief Guests of the event, Dr. Shailendra Raj Mehta (President& Director, MICA) and Dr. Preeti Shroff (Dean, MICA).

The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), located in Sricity near Chennai, has commenced its 18th batch of the post-graduate program in management (and it’s first ever MBA batch with 240 students) on June 1, 2017. Out of 240 students from 21 States and 97 Cities, the percentage of Girl students increased from 30% in 2016-18 batch to 36% in the current batch without any extra preference points being offered on the basis of gender.

The inauguration ceremony was presided by PGP Chairperson Prof. Sanghamitra Buddhapriya and Director Dr. Jitendra K. Das. Also present were President and Vice President of FORE Mr. R.C. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management – Bengaluru ended its Placement Season on a high note for the batch of 2015 – 2017. The number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) increased manifold spreading a wave of happiness among the students. The PPOs by market leaders such as Dell, Genpact, Fidelity Investments, JP Morgan, Cummins, D.E. Shaw, and Wildcraft among others were bagged by the students by stellar performance during their summer internships.
