Meet Dr. Sivakumar S, Assistant Professor - Operations and Supply Chain Management (PhD: Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore)
• Sivakumar has an under-graduation degree in mechanical engineering from NIT, Trichy and a PG Diploma in Management from IIM, Bangalore. He is a doctoral Fellow in Production and Operations Management from IIM, Bangalore.
• He has a work experience of 14 years with Wipro Technologies including 7 years of international experience in Europe and USA. During his tenure with Wipro he played diverse roles including software delivery management, project management, account management, mining sales, and corporate training.
• He has a rich consulting experience with customers in Media & Entertainment, Information services, and Financial services. His consulting specialization includes service engineering, process re-engineering and total outsourcing.
• He has been recipient of several awards and honors during his academic and professional career. He was the winner of SAP Labs merit scholarship award during his doctoral program at IIM, Bangalore. He was the winner of Director’s merit list (DML) award for his academic performance at both doctoral level and post-graduation level at IIM, Bangalore. He was also the winner of Best People Manager award from the Chairman of Wipro Technologies.
• His research interests lie in service operations; especially co-production systems, e-business operations and Servitization of businesses. He also works on contracting and sourcing issues in service supply chains from the perspectives of service science, game theory and transaction cost economics.

Strategy and alliance are the stipulations of any head on approach. The flight can range from a business to a war altogether but the juxtapose of these domains never wane. Today in this big bad world where the small guy is vying for his mere existence,VUCA that sheaths the mesh of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity holds rim. Hence, VUCA was the nucleus of the discussion engraved in the panel who have been literally living their business models with an eye of the tiger enmeshed with the craft for money.
The fourth International trade conclave hosted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was inaugurated and graced by the august presence of His Excellency Mr. Anurag Bhushan, the Consul General of India, Dubai, Mr. Ajay Mathur, CEO, ETA commodities & Head-Dubai Chapter, IIFT and Dr. Jaydeep Mukherjee, Faculty IIFT, New Delhi. The trade conclave witnessed the dignitaries deliberating over the topic –‘India-Gulf Strategic Partnership in Trade and Investment: Challenges and future Roadmap’. This conclave is sixth in a series of trade conclaves that are being organized by IIFT in an attempt to foster International Trade relations. The conclaves earlier held in Singapore earlier are being organized in Dubai for the past 4 years due to the emerging opportunities in the Gulf Area.
Dr. Sunil Parameswaran a Senior Business Consultant, Business School Trainer and CEO of Tarheel Consultancy, Bangalore is a Visiting Professor teaching Finance courses at MYRA School of Business, Mysore for the last two years.
