Choosing a b-school is one of the most important decisions taken by a plethora of students and professionals across our country every year. While parameters like academics, placements, exposure, and brand play a crucial role in the decision-making process, a few parameters and variables are realised only after joining the Institute.
As a child, in primary school, I loved participating in fancy-dress competitions. Dressed up like Nehru, with a rose pinned on my chest, I would go on to speak like a mini-statesman. Fortunate to be blessed with the gift of oratory, I went on to win many fancy-dress competitions. Every win used to fill me up with pride, so much so that I would go on to ‘fancy’ my chances of becoming the Prime Minister of India someday. And the innocent soul I was back then, I would actually answer every ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ with ‘Prime Minister’ in utmost seriousness.
I am computer engineering fresher and I had scored 99.84 %ile in XAT. This is about my XLRI-HRM interview.
Adversity and perseverance shaped my dream of becoming a part of the top level management team of a firm. Idols that really caught my attention where the Football Managers who were very popular the likes of Jose Mourinho, Pep Gaurdiola. However, I was caught in a dilemma of choosing between GLIM and IMT, this too IT People can definitely correlate with the Payoffs that we envisaged.

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero. And this story is about one such night. It was 2 AM that night, I had been running for past three hours and still, the sleep eluded me. I had been suffering from insomnia from past three weeks. Last week, I thought I had found a cure for it when I managed a few hours sleep after running for a couple of hours. But that night even running was of no use.
