Been There, Done That - Cracking IIM Interview

Been There, Done That - Cracking IIM Interview

Ridicule the randomness, or abuse the way it is conducted, Common Admission Test for this year and its other relatives are done away with and the season of auditioning before the best of the intellectuals in the country has just begun. Yes it is the time to appear for those nervous interrogations and take one step closer to your dream of becoming an MBA. To some it may appear to be a Herculean task and to some it is like a result of years of penance, but having been there and experienced it all, take my word that it is actually not that tough.

Why MBA - Dare to Think Beyond Grades

Why MBA - Dare to Think Beyond Grades

9.00 AM - The piercing blare of my phone’s alarm brings me back from the thirteenth dimension of deep sleep as my non-REM cycle aborts and I awake with a splitting headache, with the choicest of cuss words for my phone, my timetable, my life in general. But a good seven snoozes later I’m back to my best behaviour. Picking the least smelly pair of jeans from the laundry bag, I jog to my 9.30 class.

MBA - Specify, Simplify, Satisfy repeat

MBA – A degree which can be interpreted in a thousand ways with all being correct at the same time. While some say that MBA is knowledge, experience, and money, some might go on and say that MBA is an internationally-recognized degree designed to develop the skills required for careers in business and management. Though most of us fall into the former category, the true meaning of MBA is unfathomable. Through my past year experience as an MBA student at FMS, I have tried to decode it.

Re-engineer yourself brick by brick

Re-engineer yourself brick by brick

My 1 year journey (PGPX @IIMA) has just come to an end and eyes turn misty as I brace myself to hand over the keys of MSH 901 to the facilities office and just move on with life. Myths about doing an MBA

Myths about doing an MBA

One year into FMS has been a hell of a ride. From the moment you enter the auditorium full of 200 people to realize that you actually made it here to the moment you have the best conversation with a friend and you realize that yes, you indeed  made some great bond here, FMS has been an enriching and one if the best experiences in life so far. Yes it’s a great learning experience but apart from that it is a direct opportunity for you to think where your preferences and priorities lie. Looking back at the last 7 months, I can point out a startling difference in me and I certainly feel that being here has played a major role in this. Meeting all the different people throughout this time and learning from each and every one of them has played a crucial role. It is like  a vast pool of knowledge and depends on us how much we are able to absorb. However, the external perceptions that people generally have about a business school say something else. So before joining college, a number of people advised me and the complexity involved was not so welcoming. Now that I am here I classify them as the top 3 traditional myths associated with every business school.
