I don’t precisely remember the date, but I think it was on the 23rd of Jan, 2017, when the results for NMAT were declared. I submitted my SOP, which I made sure was the best that I could write at that point in time. (Also had a few friends proofread the SOP to make sure that no errors were left unnoticed).
This note is an attempt to douse the curiosity of the young, smart and ambitious call getters who want to create a measurable impact in their WAT/PI. Having gone through the drill myself and being a beneficiary of sound mentorship at Joka, here’s an attempt to give back in my own capacity! For stronger context, this video appended below weaves in personal experiences of fellow Jokars alongside answering frequently as well as infrequently asked important questions. The moment of exhilaration has arrived for many after having seen the hard work for multiple MBA entrance exams pay-off, though the celebration of good marks needs to be postponed for a while as it is this moment of perseverance which could just be the icing on the cake for many who wish to pursue their next two years in management education from premier b-schools. The anxiety level must be high, so must be the expectations from parents to get over with the process with flying colours. Amidst such a scenario, it is a watershed moment for every candidate to realise that CD-PI process is a very important milestone in the process for converting into a prestigious b-school. Having sounded cautious till now, CD-PI is also one of the most scoring opportunities to capitalise on. Let me share the experience for my CD-PI process at NMIMS.
Congratulations! As I say that, I recall my call letter and with that the confusion to drive my interview process through the maze of relative scoring and entangling questions. Having said that, I understand that all of you, my dear friends, are right there trying to figure out the perfect mix between “tell me something about yourself and the aligning strengths & weaknesses”. But before I begin to share with you my journey through the maze, I’ll put forth some background information, for you to gauge that what acted in my favour and what did not.
