Experience of a lifetime as part of a Dual Degree Program between IIM-Udaipur and Purdue University

The first thing that crossed my mind when I landed in Purdue as part of the dual degree program between IIM-Udaipur and Purdue University is the gigantic infrastructure of the Institute. There were huge blocks of each of the departments, the Purdue Memorial Union, the recreational centre, the football stadium and many more such blocks. The campus is extremely picturesque and very well maintained. In fact one can just roam around the campus the whole day to get astonished with the incredible beauty and green pastures all around.

Spiked Jager – Discovering the 7 sins in Europe - An IIFTian on Exchange

“Nothing is Illegal in Europe”, I had heard this line many times, and it was to see this Europe that I signed up for. I packed my bags and left New Delhi on the morning of January 1st for what was going to be a defining three months. In what can only be labelled as irresponsible behaviour I left to the airport after having attended a party on campus. I hadn’t packed my bags and worst of all I didn’t pack my shoes. Eight hours and a lot of sleep later I had realized that I was going to land in Frankfurt at the peak of the European Winter wearing slippers. Thus started my exchange program by nicking a pair of socks off the flight and wearing a jacket that was hardly helpful even in the Delhi winter.

An XLer on Xchange – Madhumita’s Diary – October : MIT, Harvard, Times Square, Durga Puja and Halloween!

I have to begin by mentioning that by the time October arrived I was feeling pretty much at home in the US & “kicking ass” in Darden in terms of class participation. My professors loved me & fall weather had arrived & so life seemed all perfect through my rose tinted glasses. The moments I loved most were when I would walk through the pristine, prim & proper corridors of Darden (where everyone says stuff like “Yes Please”, “Sorry” & “Thank you” always) & listen to songs like “Sada haq aithe rakh”!

5 “off-the-beaten-path” day-trips in Europe

If you are going to Europe on student exchange, chances are you will mostly focus on traveling! After the first few weeks you might want to tear yourself away from the tourist-y crowd and find one of the quiet European refuges to lose yourself in. Here’s a list of 5 less-frequented places that I visited/wanted to visit during my student exchange.
