Overall Internship experience I was an intern at Ascent Health & Wellness Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for my summer internship this year. It was an enriching experience to be a part of Ascent for those two months. Despite being a virtual internship & my first hands-on experience with the corporate, the learnings were awesome. I achieved the milestones of the project only because of proper guidance of my mentor. I will always be grateful towards him, for handling and guiding a fresher like me, towards practical implementation of concepts of procurement domain in the pharma industry.
I have always been an automobile fan-boy. When my dad bought his first bike, a Bajaj Platina, naturally I was intrigued. I loved going with my dad to the workshops to get the bike serviced, sitting there, looking around at the Pulsars and Avengers, and be amazed. Even during my undergraduate college placement days, I misread the deadline and couldn't apply for Bajaj Auto. So I can very well say that I share a long history with Bajaj Auto and it has always been kind of a unicorn to me. I wanted to work for them, but never got a chance.
On 29th September, 2019, around 10pm I had my flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands along with nine classmates. I was tired as after going inside the airport end to end processes were to be handled by us for duration of 2 months. From managing apartment hunt to learning new things at work, at every step it inherently made me stronger and be more patient. It shaped my personality and helped me make tough decisions without any influences.
I stepped into my journey of MBA aspiring it to be one of the most enriching 2 years of my life. The rigour of work and the level of competition among students that we face during our first semester of MBA is commendable! We quickly get accustomed to multiple presentations and submissions in no time. But after a point, you’ll realise that they were all miniature lessons to make us corporate ready.
At the close of my two month long internship with HSBC's Strategic Transactions Group, my mentors and managers organised a fun session, virtually of course. One of the activities involved describing our internship journey with the help of a movie. If I had been asked the same question pre-internship, I would have probably aligned an investment banking internship that carries the reputation of being gruelling with a gory cinematic feature with a hearty concoction of sweat, pride and joy.
As the days for the internship reached near, I got excitement level kept increasing. I could not wait to know my location and project details. Wipro has been a systematic way, they shared the mentor details and location a month before. While I connected with my buddy and mentors to understand the culture and role, I could not stop imagining the plans I'd make with my undergrad-friends. I could not attend my engineering convocation, and this internship was an excellent chance for me to have a get-together. Being a travel-enthusiast, I had even listed down weekend gateways from Banglore and 'best places to eat'. But who knew, someone in some part of the world would have a BAT and everything would be ruined.
