Creating Impact since 1857 - IMT Ghaziabad

Creating Impact since 1857 - IMT Ghaziabad

Being one of the most renowned and biggest conglomerates, Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my life from the very beginning. It is impossible for anyone to say that they haven't ever used one of their products. They have divested in all the industries, fashion, retail, communication networks and BFSI. Aditya Birla Group is the Indian licensee of the US Fast Fashion Brand, Forever21 which is one of the most liked and affordable brands especially for the young women today. It has impacted lives of all the people immensely by providing them with Aditya Birla Sunlife Insurance. It is also the largest manufacturer of white cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) in India. Ultratech is a synonym to cement. Along with all this, Aditya Birla Group is working in thousands of villages focusing on rural healthcare and skill development. It also collaborates with many government schemes and works for the upliftment of society. The group has an association with hundreds of schools and works towards building a better education system.

Let the world feel your presence! - IMT Ghaziabad

Aditya Birla Group is one of the few Indian multinational corporations that has made its presence felt in the various market segments all over the world. It has over 1,20,000 employees belonging to over 42 different nationalities on its rolls. The conglomerate serves a global powerhouse in a wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement. The fortune 500 company’s presence is most felt according to me through its metal manufacturing business globally through its subsidiary Hindalco and in India by the means of its multi-product business through its subsidiary Grasim Industries whose major area of focus lies in its cement business.

Part A: Aditya Birla Group: Radiant is it's leader, Reliable are the brands

Just last week I had my fresher’s party. After skimming through hundreds of apparels one shirt from Louis Phillipe instantly caught my attention. When all the telecom networks failed to provide adequate connectivity, it is Vodafone which keeps me connected 24/7 with my family back in Delhi. Withdrawing cash from ATM could be a hassle but its BHIM ABPB which makes cashless transactions so easy. When my home was under construction there was only one brand I could rely on i.e. “Ultratech Cement”. Now you must be wondering why I am mentioning these seemingly diverse sectors together, but there is a fine thread that weaves all these “pearls” together, called as “Aditya Birla Group”. It not only reflects on how ubiquitous this group’s area of operations are but also shows the vision of its charismatic leader Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla. He is not just a successful business tycoon but also an academician of the highest order. He truly serves as a role model for the youth today.

Making my dad smile

Making my dad smile

So this was when I was back in 2016 when I was in my second year of engineering. I got an opportunity to do a small gig with QS world rankings. They were conducting an event in Delhi at Le Meridian and my job was to sit at the registration desk for two days. I was getting paid 2000 rupees for this. I could not ask for more. I thought about all the pizza I am going to eat and the movies I am going to watch. After I was done with the job I got my money. While going back I thought that since it was practically my first earning ever I should buy my father something. I thought about buying a shirt. So I went to Cannaught place and started looking for shirts. After looking for a while and not finding anything worth my money I went to the most dependable men clothing brand I knew, Peter England. In about 10 minutes I found a shirt that I liked, for a price that was too good to be true. I bought the shirt and took it home. My father does not smile very often, not because of some deep emotional trouble, simply because not many things impress him.
