ABG - Big Or Small, With You Through It All - Udbhav Shenoy, TAPMI

How does one gauge the influence of a company on the lives of the people it touches, when all that counts cannot be counted and all that matters cannot be explained by mere numbers. Now what if this company happens to be the third the biggest conglomerates in India a country of 1.3 billion people. What this means is that you would be hard-pressed to come across someone who has not been knowingly or unknowingly touched by the products and services provided by the company. The Aditya Birla Group, counted amongst the pioneers of Indian industry, have over the years cemented (quite literally) their presence in the hearts and minds of the Indian people. From the humble aluminium foil wrap that your mom used to pack your school lunch in, to the sea link that connects Mumbai the financial capital of India, the Aditya Birla Group makes its presence felt through thing big and small. From world class schools to hospitals and museums the group makes its unmistakable presence felt throughout. As someone who has personally been a user of many of the products and services offered by the Aditya Birla Group, its difficult to comprehend the influence the group has had on my life, be it clothes I wear, the telecom service I use or financial services I depend on, it seems so much of my life has been shaped by the company that it’s difficult to imagine what it would be like had it not been for the group.

Hurdles Are Necessary To Reap Rewards - Arnab Ghosh, TAPMI

Life is never a smooth ride. Some people choose to be optimistic and focus on the one thing going absolutely fine in their life(could be being alive), some choose to indulge in constant grumbling about the a million things going wrong in their life(one of them could be weather).

I visited Pantaloons for the first time when I was only 7 years old. I still recall buying the Gini & Jony denims and t-shirts at the store. Though I have grown up and various facets of my life have changed, one thing that remains constant are my shopping habits. Technically, one could call me the loyal customer. “Come at me with thy campaigns, I shall not budge or discard the Pantaloons Green Card from my wallet”. From the first shirt I bought for my first job to the suit I bought for my convocation, I got them all from Pantaloons.

Have you been overlooked? Rejected? Dejected? I have, on more than one occasion but I shall share one such instance in the interest of time. It all started at just before the end term exams for the 7th semester of my engineering college. I had already received a campus placement at a company in Bombay however I was notified that I would be held from giving an exam due to shortage of attendance and would have to reappear for the whole semester to attend the classes for that subject. That’s where it all started. While my batchmates started their careers, I was attending classes for one subject in the 9th semester. I had also lost the offer I had at hand. It was humiliating for one but at the same time I knew I couldn’t let that get to my head. As was no longer eligible to sit for placements, I decided to learn as much as I could with the time that I had at hand.

Aditya Birla Group - Boy Do They Know How To Handle Brands - Arnab Ghosh, TAPMI

Last year when I joined my college, my dreams were many and to be very honest I was a tad nervous. After 7 years of education and job in IT, I needed a break from all the coding and maintaining IT systems. So I asked myself, what am I good at. The first thing that came to my mind is graphic designing and branding. I have always loved Brands. Numerous times I have thought to myself, why this color, why this logo? Why this ad in this way? Why are they targeting only the youth population? Oh God! Again the same idea behind a deodorant ad. When will they realize we are much more than attracting attractive girls through a artificial body odour.
