Since then, Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has expanded itself into 34 countries across 5 continents, with over 130 state-of-the-art manufacturing units. It is the largest Indian company with manufacturing operations in USA. Helmed by 120,000 employees, it has been named the ‘Best Employer’ in India in 2018 by Aon Hewitt.
Okay my story is not going to be like Cristiano Ronaldo’s who was the unwanted child of the family.His parents had gone to the extent of considering abortion. Today he is the best footballer in the world which makes his mom always wonder what if she had taken the ‘other’ decision. My story is quite a simple one, Since I was a kid, I had this quality of always giving it back to the society. I don’t know from where it came, or how it was transferred into my hard drive, but this has always been there. I am generally a kind, caring and independent person who is always willing to go that extra mile to do something that anyone can benefit from. The first instance was when I was cleaning my cupboard to find out clothes which didn’t fit me because of over-eating.
When you think about Aditya Birla Group the one thing that comes to your mind is its presence everywhere. ABG is ubiquitous and that nature makes a mark on mostly everyone's life. ABG has a rich legacy, its roots in India's economic history go back to almost a century before independence.
It all started with a dream, a dream to “take India to the world”. The dream is now a vision, a vision of every individual of this country. How was this possible? To ignite such feeling in every individual. Aditya Birla group has been an epitome of service towards the nation and its people.
I woke up early that day and it was raining outside, my father who is a police officer had to go out of the town to attend his duty call. I also had to stay indoors as the ground was all wet, so I went to the kitchen and watched my mom prepare food for my father, suddenly she grabbed a shiny silver foil and started packing his lunch in it. I grabbed one of the parathas wrapped in that shiny foil and was about to chew it. Wait!! Shouted my mom, you can’t eat this, it is made of aluminium and it is used to keep the food warm as it acts as an insulator for heat. OOOOhhh!! I felt like the kid scientist from Dexter’s lab and that was the day I got initiated to Freshwrapp. I was about 7 years old at that time and since then mobile phones have metamorph from us pressing the keys to touch screens, covering distances on wheels to flying high in planes from Dada to Dhoni, the times really have been changing but Freshwrapp was there with us keeping our food warm, whether prepared by mom or purchased from a vendor. Cut to the future I am travelling on a train looking forward to start my MBA journey with IIFT, little tensed, little excited, little nervous. Now the tables have turned, life has come 360 degrees now my mom has cooked my favourite mix veg paranthas for the journey, It has started raining again as I try to gauge at the scenes outside the window and there is a girl who has occupied the seat next to me. I decide to kill the butterflies in my stomach by gorging on those delicious paranthas, I asked the girl if she wants to grab a bite, she asked me “Are they still hot?” I said, “Of course, they are packed in Freshwrapp.”

My journey from the local tailor to the brand of formal wear can be associated with Aditya Birla Group(ABG). Starting from the jute/textile industry Aditya Birla Group(ABG) is now one of the biggest conglomerates in the world, covering 35 countries and with the strength of 120000 people. The step-up of Aditya Birla Group(ABG) post-independence from Grasim industries (the leading producer of viscose staple fiber) to the behemoth of rayon grade pulp manufacturing, one of the largest selling cement manufacturer, a leading producer of aluminium/copper(Hindalco) and the undeniable leader over textile industry is similar to the rise of India from a newly independent third world country to a global superpower. The change in the scale of operations and the humongous presence of 14 industry sectors came after a long thorough professional exploration and sustainable growth plan. In my important steps in life, products from Aditya Birla Group(ABG) had a crucial role to play. My father’s gift for my IIFT interview was a Van Heusen suit. The confidence and elegance of the brand helped me to perform well in the later stage of the selection process. Today while I write this article from my IIFT hostel room I feel that Aditya Birla Group(ABG) somehow resembles my metamorphosis from a cocoon (read as a newbie in the corporate world) to the butterfly (read the explorer of different spectrum of corporate life through management education) perfectly. It will also remain an integral part of my daily life.
