Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest Indian Businesses which was able to secure its name in the League of Fortune 500. It comprises of 12000 employees and is spread across 35 countries making a mark in every sector it has entered.
It was a cold sunny morning, I was sleeping, completely relaxed as my exams had just finished. My mother came to wake me up as my cousins were to arrive. The four of us are really fun and amazing together. All of us were sitting around the table, when one of them suggested the idea to go on a small trip and celebrate the end of exams. I was thrilled to hear this as this was going to be my first trip without our parents. We decided on McLeodganj and booked the tickets immediately. We were to leave that night and I suddenly realized that I had no trekking shoes to carry with me. This realization, unfortunately, struck me at 7 in the evening, thus leaving no time for me to go out and buy a good pair of hiking shoes. Had Pantaloons not been there, right beside my apartment, my first outing with my cousins would have just remained a dream. The shoes were so comfortable that my entire journey turned into a partial rose walk expect for the last 1 km of tiring terrain.
Aditya Birla Group has impacted my life directly or indirectly in a number of ways. Out of a huge range of products, clothing is the one I have been associated with since quite a long time now and it certainly has made a huge impact on my personality. Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen and Peter England all these brands have impacted my personality in one way or other.
My association with the Aditya Birla group has started in my childhood itself unknowingly when my mom used to wrap my food with Freshwrapp aluminium foil to keep the food hot and healthy. Knowingly, it happened when our house was under construction. We suggested ‘X’ cement brand as it was a bit cheaper but the engineer, the supervisor, and even the masons insisted us to use Ultra Tech cement, that much trust it had gained among the players of the construction business and it is priceless. It always thrives to protect that trust, belief, and faith.

Despite the British India’s stringent rules of establishing monopolies, he managed to succeed in building the family’s first fortune by launching a cotton and jute trading business in the town of Pilani, in Rajasthan, India. After the Independence, the Birla family ventured into a number of sectors, from the Grasim Industries established just 10 days after the independence to acquiring Indian Rayon Corporation followed by cement production, launching their first factory in 1985. The Birla group soon also entered the foreign market with Indo Thai Synthetics being their first subsidiary. The Aditya Birla Group that we know of today has created wealth and respect for the country and Indian entrepreneurship. The Aditya Birla Group stands for Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Seamlessness and Speed and with the power of these five has not only made its mark in the country but has emerged as a global business empire. The group is the largest Indian multi-national company, with manufacturing operations in the US.
Going back to the memory lane comes my childhood memory of Aditya Birla Group’s freshwrapp. Coming from a middle-class family like every other mother, my mom also cooked delicious lunch for me and packed it in my little blue tiffin. I loved the way she cared for me so much but the only thing I did not like was that she packed my lunch in a newspaper.
