As the season of B-school admissions draws to a close, I see numerous “first posts” on LinkedIn mentioning their laurels of joining premier B-schools of the world. IIMs are the Mecca of every aspirant, who aim to assume leadership roles in the future. A swarm of these talented young bees, having proven their mettle in the game of aptitude-based talent hunt, zoom into the B(ee)-Schools with a diversity of thoughts, ideas, and assumptions.
In terms of preparation, my focus was always on building a strong foundation in terms of domain knowledge and being myself. Having a broad understanding of the structure and functioning of a shared services Organisation was definitely helpful as well.
22nd July 2020 I woke up to an email from the placements team.
“Work while they’re fighting, Learn while they’re critiquing, Party while they’re sleeping, Live like they’re dreaming!”
“We say that flowers return every spring, but that is a lie. It is true that the world is renewed. It is also true that that renewal comes at a price, for even if the flower grows from an ancient vine, the flowers of spring are themselves new to the world, untried and untested.
It all started, when I just got done and dusted with my final semester engineering examination. From that night and couple of night followed I couldn’t sleep, not because I had unchecked M.tech option from the list but I was completely haywire as what is up next then?
