I completed my graduation in 2015 and started working in one of the most renowned IT company. However, studying in a top B-school was my ambition in life but working towards it was a difficult task.
In 2018, due to my father’s ill health, our family business was in distress and on the verge of collapsing due to negligence and lack of workforce. As it was a major source of income for our family, its revival was necessary. Almost every other weekend, I had to travel to my home town which took 36 hours round trip by train to look into the operations of the family owned business.
Also, the situation put our family under a tight financial constraint and I had to shift to the outskirts of the Mumbai to financially aid my family. My workplace was in the heart of the city. It would take 4 hours of total commute for work every day, work and commute would drain me completely By the time I reached home. The traffic made it worse, I barely had preparation time for the entrance examinations, and this made achieving my ambition look impossible.
However, In-spite of my MBA entrance preparation and my job commitments (in Mumbai), with the help of family, we put the family business back on track. This also motivated me further to overcome the tough times and get admission to a reputed B-school.
This was the most difficult challenge I faced. I am glad that I could overcome the challenge and fortunate to be learning in a reputed B-School fulfilling my long-awaited ambition.
