Challenges are the 'c' to your life’s 'y = mx'. After cracking CAT and getting into a premium B-School, my real journey has begun.
I started my academic career as a physics graduate. Amidst fierce competition, I secured a spot in Jadavpur University’s Physics Undergraduate program. Over the years, I built a knack for solid state physics. So, it became imperative for me to enrol in a premium institute to pursue the same.
I began my GATE preparation in 2016. After clearing the cut-offs and spending a wonderful 2 years in IIT-Kharagpur, I was at a cross-road. Should I go for a PhD or pursue a career for my, yet again, new found knack. After days of contemplation, I finally decided to equip myself for a future career in marketing. So, I joined an MNC to reinforce my resume and decided to bell the cat after a years’ time.
I started CAT preparation in mid-2018 when I was in 2nd year of employment. I had enrolled myself in TIME test-series, Salt Lake, Kolkata branch. I hardly got any time attending tests because of the project workload. I took CAT without any preparation. Apprehensive of the results, I made up my mind of re-taking CAT next year for a better outcome. But luckily, my percentile was decent enough to land me in TAPMI.
My life has been a roller-coaster of choices and challenges. Overcoming each hurdle boosted my confidence in pushing myself harder. Only time will tell where my ambitions land me in the future. As RC Allen rightly quotes ‘We grow because we struggle, we learn and overcome.’
