“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” a phrase from Maha Upnishad, which means, “the world is one family” is in the core of our country from centuries. And Aditya Birla Group with its presence in more than thirty-five countries has materialized it in this competitive world in even twenty first century. We cannot define the grandness of the group only few can but knowingly or unknowingly we all have used products of Aditya Birla Group in some way. Be it dressing up with pantaloons, communicating with Vodafone Idea, building beautiful homes with ultratech cement, etc the list is very long.

Mahatma Gandhi rightly said India is a land of cooperation and not competition and Aditya Birla Group has practically applied it with its active contribution reaching out to five thousand villages and 7.5 million people “Making a Difference”. They contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate. In doing so, building a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country's human development index. And that is what I idolize the most.

The group has a very strong history of contributing selflessly to the community and country at large. Mr Ghanshyam Das Birla as a close confidant of Mahatma Gandhi played an active role in Indian freedom struggle and represented India at international level and the legacy has continued till today. The love for motherland runs deep in their root and that is very evident from their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The focus area of the group includes healthcare, education, infrastructure, sustainable livelihood and model villages, which is the need of the hour.

I look up to the organization with great reverence. It has realized the dreams of many people with its CSR initiatives and gave many people the power to dream. So let us all contribute to the growth of the group however small it maybe. The least we can do is buy a Aditya Birla Group products, this will help someone somewhere sitting in a remote village of India realize his/her dream.

‘Dream’- A Chord Struck. Right? Well we all live in our own sweet, cozy world of dreams. Our dreamland is way different than reality if not the opposite. We all dream of having big achievements. Some achieve them in real life others don’t, still we don’t stop dreaming. This is the power of dreams, it always keeps you going.

My story is no different. I also dreamt of having a great achievement in my kitty but never gave a serious thought to it. I was content with my good grades in school, engineering from a government college, got placed in a company from campus and that was it.

A tremor struck when company didn’t gave joining but I managed to get a job in Food Corporation of India and things started to fall into place or that was what I felt. Everyone was happy around me as I was going to be third generation government employee. My grandfather, grandmother, father and mother all were in government jobs. I changed my first job within three months, as it was more lucrative and joined India Meteorological Department. I was climbing up the career ladder and was basking in my own la-la land.

Two years back I had falling dream for the first time I woke up with a jerk and was sweating profusely. With every passing day falling dreams became more frequent and intense. I could not fathom what was happening around me. I talked to many people my family, friends, relatives, extended family, extended friends and who not but no respite came. Even I read lot of literature about it, while reading I came across that these dreams are indicative of unachieved aspirations.

Unachieved aspirations??? Well that was new to me. I felt I should change my job and things will be fine. With all the ZEAL I could gather started preparing for other exams and started giving entrance tests of different government recruitment and got selected in a few of them. Mean while one year passed but the dreams didn’t stop haunting me and it was the last straw.

I searched many career options but none appealed to me then I came across CAT, something banged in my mind with brute force. The decision was made but it was easier said than done. My family was totally against my leaving a government job and cherry on toping was I had to come out of my comfort zone of 10-5 secured job and that was toughest task for me. I took it as a challenge and resigned in first place experiencing an actual free fall and I landed hail and hearty in IIM Ranchi. It has been more than three weeks now and it feels the best decision of my life.

Keep Dreaming
