Businesses cannot be successful when the society around them fails
Since childhood, all I have cared about is the well being of the people, the environment and the society as a whole. I could not bear to see children working in several places when they are supposed to go for their education and build their lives. Likewise, that huge dump of waste which could cause deadly diseases to the people living around there was something that I could not tolerate. And most of this waste came from where? The industries in the manufacturing sector.
Undoubtedly, the manufacturing sector is the backbone of every developing country but the different kinds of wastes produced by its activities can weaken the country's backbone too. So it is of utmost importance that the waste is disposed of correctly and the importance of the same is made aware to everyone. Hindalco Industries Limited which is one of the flagship companies of the Aditya Birla Group sought to it.
It not only operated among the sectors such as building & construction, automotive, consumer durables, etc. but it made sure to add values to the society for the greater good. What it focuses on is not only the profit maximization but sustainability to benefit the present as well as future generations. It follows practices like recycling of waste, energy conservation, environment friendly waste disposal and the socio-economic development of the communities and the empowerment of the employees. The basic and foremost thing companies tend to forget is the importance of their employees but Hindalco understands that any company is made by its employees and the best way to keep it booming in the market is to take care of their basic necessities and their well-being.
Challenges: Source of Growth
We face challenges now and then as we grow up in our lives and that is how we actually grow up. Every challenge teaches us something that we tend to implement in our coming challenges in life.
One of the major face-offs I faced was with myself when I had no time for myself. It was the time when I was pursuing my Chartered Accountancy Course wherein my internship was going on along with the tuitions for CA Finals, my college and to add a cherry on the cake, I used to teach. The way I had to manage my time, my priorities, my studies, my friends, and myself as well was something extraordinary for a child of just 18 years of age. Yes, 18 years does not sound like a child but believe me, I was. I am the youngest and the most pampered child at home and suddenly the things change in such a way that I only visited my home at night to sleep, had no time to talk to my parents and siblings and most importantly I had no time to carry on my hobbies.
But I learned it the hard way that "Today's Pain is Tomorrow's Gain" as today when I write CA in the prefix of my name it makes me proud, it makes my parents proud of me and no happiness is greater than being a reason for the smile on your parents' faces. Also, it gives me the power to rise above the challenges that keep on clamoring in my life.
