Girl with a grit - TAPMI

Hailing from a family where girls are usually deprived of opportunities to make themselves independent, here I am- a step closer to my dream to carve a niche for myself. Born and brought up in an extremely conservative environment, I had to work twofold to persuade them to let me take up a job right after my graduation. Albeit with an extremely rigid set of rules to follow, I could finally begin to work; the first-ever girl from the family to work for a corporate.

Little did they know, this girl had now cultivated bigger aspirations. After working for a considerate amount of time, I had now resolved to do the unthinkable- get an MBA! The fact that I might have to move across cities was enough for my family to oppose my decision. So much that I was restricted from preparing for the entrance test.

"It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference". And yes, it did make all the difference. Despite the growing reluctance, I continued to work towards shaping my dream. I believed in my capabilities and never gave up. My determination finally helped me make it to a prestigious B-school in the country.

The journey so far has been long, and a one filled with challenges in every step. I'm aware it wasn't the last of the lot, there are many more coming my way. However, my will and grit are now stronger than ever- it has shaped me into the person I am today.
