"Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

-Michael Jordan

We all face obstacles in our lives. Some of them may not appear big enough to be catered to immediately, but if they are hanged out to dry for long, it will affect life in the long term. I had faced one such obstacle throughout my school days to under-graduation. I was a very quiet and reserved person during my school days, I never took part in any extra-curricular activities because I used to think to myself what if things go wrong and what others will think about it, so I restricted myself to academics.

Coming to my graduation days I pledged to myself that I will network with people, become proactive in college activities and broaden my horizons. But facing terrible situations initially pushed me back to my comfort space again and I couldn’t gather my will to try again. Hence, this resulted in a situation where I completely became socially awkward, I started feeling uncomfortable around new and unknown people. While my friends were moving on in their lives, meeting new peers and accomplishing things, I started to feel left out and alone.

However, when I joined XIMB to pursue an MBA in Business Management I started to feel comfortable, confident and ready to take up challenges. Initially, I faced a few rough days to come out of the comfort zone but as I went on to spend time with my batchmates and seniors, I started to feel comfortable as we were able to establish some common grounds. This time I made sure that I won’t crawl back to my comfort space. So, when the time came to pitch myself in front of my class for the position of the class representative and culture representative, I pulled up my socks and presented myself. This was the first time I pitched about myself in front of anyone. Though I didn’t get the position, the initiative motivated me enough to not back down and learn from the outcomes. I started practicing on my oratory skills and finally, things came through when I got into as shadow member of PR & Media cell of XIMB. Hence, I can proudly say that I have started growing past my old-self and I want to continue on this path to become the best version of myself.

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life

Aditya Birla Group, now being operated by the 4th generation is one of the tops and most diversified conglomerates of India. It’s touching millions of lives and making a difference every day. It has collaborated with Swachh Bharat Mission, MGNREGA and 10+ more government schemes.

I can associate my life with Aditya Birla Group as I have been a long-time user in some or the other way. Starting with fashion apparel ‘Planet Fashion’ and ‘Pantaloons’ offers various ranges and diversity of clothing accessories. I have been fond of ‘Van Heusen’ and ‘Louise Phillipe’ because I feel assured by the quality material & stitching of the brand. Be it for personal or professional use, these brands have always played a vital role in shaping up my dressing sense.

Before Vodafone-idea became the largest telecom operator, my father was a long-time user of Idea network because of its accessibility to remote areas. I have been using the Vodafone network for more than 6 years and I can say that I have never been more satisfied. Where other brands have faced their fair share of trouble during times, Vodafone-idea stood tall in front of them.

Ultratech and Aditya Birla Finance are among the various other subsidiaries who are the leaders of their respective markets.  Ultratech being the top choice of people is one of the brands my family has preferred over others during the renovation of our house and workplace.

“Great businesses are never built on opportunism. I reiterate that if living by our values means growing at a slower pace than otherwise, then for us leadership lies at heart of knowing what we stand for”

-Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla

Indeed, the words said by Mr. Birla is what the legacy the group is taking forward. Keeping a track of the vision of being the premium conglomerate with a diversified profile. Aditya Birla Group is not big only in my life but to the lives of millions of people. The group has worked with 5000+ villages to provide healthcare, education and livelihood opportunities to more than 7.5 million people. Its engagement to maintain a sustainable environment for both society and for business, Aditya Birla Group is big in our lives.
