Right from the house I live in, to the store where i get my groceries from- Aditya Birla Group is everywhere, be it their Ultratech Cement or More Retail stores, ABG can be found in almost every aspect of my life.
I clearly remember my first day on the job, where i went wearing a Peter England shirt and Louis Phillipe trouser which my parents bought me, being loyal users of the ABG brand since the time i can remember.
Any significant memory I can recall, some part of ABG is in it, be it my graduation, my first job or my preparation for various competitive exams. Simply by the virtue of quality that ABGs' textile segment has to offer, it has become my first preference for anything related to formal wear.
There was a time in my life, when I was really tired of being stuck in the bottom of the pyramid and wanted something big out of my life, that's when I started preparing for Management entrance exams. Initially, it was very difficult to manage my office work with my preparation and one cannot help but feel demotivated that's when I decided to continue for a little more time. That 'little more' time kept on increasing and here I'm standing at the heavenly doors of IMT, Ghaziabad waiting to start two years of my academic life again. It's quite difficult to adjust as a student again after you have been in work place, everything is so different, we always have some mentor looking after us, you are not alone in a B-school.
I was always unsure about going for higher studies, but after going through the initial month, I'm quite confident that i made the right choice, the kind of rigor you face in a B-school prepares you for the tough life ahead and makes you a confident person overall. This rigor teaches you discipline and gratitude, which are one of the most important aspects of professional life. This discipline that you get in a MBA college stays with you forever and helps you in ways you can't imagine, helping you out in very unpredictable ways. One of the most important things in life is to be grateful for what you have and this is a skill, which is very difficult to be taught like any academic course.
A very important thing to remember is that being grateful is different from staying in the past. Some people consider being grateful is just looking at the past and ignoring future possibilities, which is wrong in my opinion. Having gratitude for those around you will take you far in life, just by the virtue of being respectful can help you in ways unimaginable.
Apart from this, having the right kind of attitude in life is important and one should make sure that attitude adjustments are in place whenever necessary.
Aditya Birla Group has helped me in ways unimaginable. From late night snacks bought from their MORE-hyper retail, to the amazing formal wear they have to offer, ABG has always been close to my heart and the values i have learned align very closely with the value that ABG represents.
