How Aditya Birla Group influenced my life.

A lot of businesses come and go. Corporations rise and fall. Huge corporations like Lehman Brothers have been blown away by the 2008 financial crisis. Ones that no one had ever thought could suffer have suffered losses. But it is the few great organisations that stand the test of time truly determine what it means to be a great organisation. Since the year of 1857, Aditya Birla Group has been shaping lives and delivering results and it has not been an easy journey. But the had been stalwarts in the Indian industrial arena and has guided many lives into formation, provided employment to thousands and has taken Indian business values to the centre of the world’s stage.

My interaction with this epic of an organisation however had very humble beginnings. I remember telling my mother one day after school how the rotis she gave me for lunch had gone hard by the time I could eat it. So, from the next day she started wrapping my lunch in “Freshwrapp” aluminium foil. I remember coming home and telling her how the rotis remained soft till the lunch time that day. It was such small joys that had been infused in my life from an early age. My next interaction with this organisation was when my father started to build our house. Previously we used to live in a government bungalow. The cement used in the very construction of the building which I call my home and would call my home till my last day was Birla Cement. As I grew older I used to get formal shirts as gifts during Diwali from my parents. Shirts of Van Heusen and Peter England. The excellent fabric made it a pleasure to wear those.

In conclusion I would like to say that it is perhaps one of the greatest achievements of an organisation to be able to touch so many lives simultaneously and to be a part of the best memories of their lives.
