Being a student for major part of my life so far and having only two years of professional experience most of my achieved ambitions have been related to academics. One of the challenges I had was of stage fear, which held me back from voluntarily participating in any of the stage competitions held during school. It was thus my short-term goal to free myself from the clutches of this fear and express myself in front of an audience. To achieve this goal, I had taken few measures like- I practiced long speeches in-front of my parents, friends and other well-wishers, to overcome my nervousness while speaking in-front of an audience. Next step was to speak in-front of a mirror (as suggested by many) and lastly was to do a bit research on the topic I was going to speak or present to an audience. This helped me a lot as gaining some knowledge about the topic boosts one’s confidence and helps to express confidently in-front of an audience. From being a silent spectator to anchoring in college events the journey has been satisfactory and of great learnings.
Another challenge I faced initially in my professional life was of constant and quick changes. Working on a project with different modules I had to work for a few days on one module and then shift to different module as per the priority and client requirements. Initially it was tough to adapt to such changes quickly but as time progressed it became easy with the help and support of my colleagues. One important learning was that team work always helps achieve greater heights that individual work.
I believe challenges provide us opportunities to shape our lives and provides experience to make knowledgeable decisions in future.
