In every individual's life, there comes a point where major trials and challenges come into play. Overcoming these obstacles may appear to be an impossible task, but oftentimes, in our seemingly darkest hour, humans come to learn just how capable we are of pushing forward.
Pursuing an MBA was one of my lifelong dreams. After my under graduation, I got into an I.T service company as a software developer. I wanted to experience working in an MNC before pursuing an MBA. Simultaneously I prepared for the entrance exam during my free time. I attended classes during the weekends and practiced questions during the weekdays after coming home from work.
But when the results came out, my CAT percentile was below my expectations. I was dejected and felt that all my efforts went in vain. But I knew that the battle was not yet done. I still had a chance to crack a good college by performing well in the GDs and Personal Interviews. I attended workshops and mock interviews to better equip myself before attending the admission processes. Initially, I couldn’t crack the GD’s, but the first few processes served as a learning curve for me. I identified my weaknesses and worked on them. Subsequently, I started performing much better. I was fortunate enough to get selected to T.A. Pai Management Institute, one of the top 20 Bschools in the country.
Perseverance is one of the most important traits one must possess when faced with challenges. The sense of accomplishment when standing tall against an obstacle is incomparable.
