“I am a hustler, I hustle for excellence – Nandita, IIM Ranchi”

In a middle-class environment, I was raised to have faith in myself, my parents always encouraged me to pursue my interests so as a kid, I decided to try my hand at everything, which helped me become the versatile person that I am today.

While it is completely impossible to live in India for 22 years without having to rely on the 4430 crores USD giant, I too have enjoyed my share of goods and services from the Aditya Birla Group in every possible sector be it telecommunication, construction, financial services, what not, but majorly fashion.

From school to college, my journey from being a shy, introvert to an outgoing extrovert has a lot to do with my first association with the college’s fashion society. While I was always fond of clothing, accessorizing, somewhere I lacked the confidence to walk up on the stage and represent a brand or label. I would always admire them from a distance and would follow all recent trends but then, I joined my college’s fashion society as a fashion stylist and went on to do that until one day when I had to fill in for one of the models for a huge fashion show. That day, without a second thought, I jumped on the stage, pulling off the attire that I had put together. I could’ve easily backed out that day but the only thing that gave me the confidence to go up at the stage, in front of the crowd, with insurmountable confidence was my faith in my creation. I had worked very hard into assembling all the items to form the perfect attire and I knew that it deserved to be seen, so that one moment of courage helped me break my internal barriers, because the happiness that I felt in that one minute of walk was unparalleled. This was my first public interaction, which let to be the foundation of many more successful things.

I, then, walked the ramp for various college events which saw sponsorship from labels including Pantaloons, where even without being a professional, I was chosen for my skills. It was almost as if my whole perspective towards life had been revamped. This core trait has reflected in everything that I have done, from fashion to community service and from art to academics. I have never looked back in life.

I was never into politics but somehow politics held my hand when I contested for elections at the Treasurer and during the whole campaigning, I only vouched for what I believed in, never letting go of my core values, and eventually, I was elected with high majority. There, not only did I solely land a sponsorship for the fest but also, juggling between managing funds, tapping sponsors, leading the team and negotiating with the authorities, realized my management skills like never before.

No matter whether behind the desks, in a row with my fellows or on the stage alone, I have hustled all my life to become a better version of myself, to the extent that it has now become my life. When I think of the Aditya Birla Group, I cannot help but notice the parallelism in our goal alignments, to deliver superior value to everyone associated with us and society at large.

Since childhood, I have seen my father take care of people, irrespective of the hectic schedule, he is has fulfilled his duties as a doctor. I wanted to become a doctor like him but when I could not I knew there were other ways in which I could serve the community, hence I have been actively involved with MDD Bal Bhawan Anath Ashram, serving the community as an active member and when we think of service, ABG has been there too, helping every children through its CSR initiatives.

ABCIL is the closest to my heart, for serving in the manufacturing of life-saving drugs, it promises of quality of life. I have been following Aditya Birla Scholarships since the day I learnt about them. The telecommunication channel keeps me connected with my brother over continents.

While we cannot thank ABG enough for enhancing the quality of their services each day, it would be an honour for me to learn under the best and most experienced minds of the industry in a diverse environment.
