For every person, college days are one of the best days of their life. Although I had experienced ‘college days’ during my engineering life still I had a lot more expectations from my MBA course. So CAT 2018 happened and I was interviewed for CAP. Even though I had converted 4 out of 6 new IIMs but I choose IIM Raipur. One of the major reason was IIM Raipur’s ‘ Student Exchange Program’ which is said to be one of the best among IIMs, also IIM Raipur was steadily climbing up the ladder to improve its placement scenario and most importantly it was being allotted a very modern and sophisticated campus in Naya Raipur. So because of the above-mentioned reasons I choose IIM Raipur. But once I came here I got to know what the best thing about this college is – It’s the all-in-one campus.
The all-in-one campus:
Being in an IIM I had some expectations regarding the campus facilities but once I came here, I honestly had a bad impression about this campus. When one will try to visualize the fact that the boy’s hostel, classroom, office, mess and girl’s hostel are all located in one building that person might be confused. The same thing happened to me. But once I lived here for 2 days I realised that no college can create this unique environment. The vibrant campus with its 24X7 culture where student’s interact with each other throughout the whole night, the night canteen fulfils late night cravings of some of the students and the badminton court where games continue up to 4:00 am in the night will never let anyone feel isolated and bored. Even girls have the permission to sit in the common room, interact and study. With this freedom, the institute has its own set of rules and regulation which instils the trait of discipline in the character of each of the students, respect towards fellow students, staff and most importantly the institution. The culture of the campus is shaped in such a way so as to make every aspiring manager corporate ready.
Most importantly one of all the major advantage of this campus is the accessibility of the class from the hostel. Being an MBA student staying up late at night for work and waking up late in the morning is a usual thing. Whereas this might create a problem in institutes where there it takes 15 minutes to walk from hostel to classroom but this is not so in IIM Raipur. Even if a person wakes up 15 minutes prior to class timings, he can freshen up, have breakfast and reach the classroom on time. This makes our life a lot easier.
The new campus:
Even though the students are yet to shift to the new campus of which the tentative dates are around September 18. The new campus which will be one of the best among B-schools in India is located in Naya Raipur which is a modern planned smart- city with ample green covers which will make it a great place to live.
ABG Company I would like to work for
I would like to work for Aditya Birla Payment Bank for ABG. The reason for choosing this is that my career interest lies in finance so I want to work in the financial sector. As this is a relatively new venture of the group, so I want to be involved in the group’s growth where I will not only get an opportunity to work in finance sector but also get challenging roles that will help the group scale new heights.
