IIM Shillong Summer Placement Report | 40 Percent of Batch of 2022 Opts For Sales & Marketing Internships

IIM Shillong successfully concluded its summer placements for the 2020-22 batch, comprising of 250 students. A total of 70 recruiters participated in the summer placements process at IIM Shillong this year, including top brands like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo, Mahindra GMC, and HSBC Bank amongst others. Here are the key highlights from IIM Shillong's summer placement process for the batch of 2022.

1. The highest stipend for IIM Shillong's summer placement stood at INR 3.00 lakhs.
2. The average stipend stood at INR 1.38 lacs, which was a jump of 5% from last year. The average stipend for female candidates stood at INR 1.43 lakhs.
3. The average stipend for the top 10% of the batch stood at INR 2.68 lakhs. The top 20% and top 50% of the batch secured an average stipend of INR 2.38 lakhs and INR 2.11 lakhs respectively.
4. Sales & Marketing continued to be the most sought-after domain, with 40% of the total offers made to the participants, followed by Consulting & Strategy (17%) and Finance (15%).
5. There was a 90% and 71% increase in the number of offers made in HR & Operations and General Management respectively. There was a 25% increase in highest stipend offered in IT & Analytics domain.
6. Regular recruiters included AB InBev, Amazon, Bain Capability Network, BPCL, Cipla, Cognizant, D.E. Shaw, Deloitte USI, Emami Group, Goldman Sachs, Google, HSBC Bank, IBM, ICICI Bank, ITC, JSW, Nomura Investment Bank, Pidilite Industries, PepsiCo, TATA Steel, Titan, Xiaomi and Yes Bank.
7. First-time recruiters included Aditya Birla Capital, Amagi Media Labs, EY, GamaSec, Godrej Consumer Products, IDFC First Bank, Lubrizol, Mahindra GMC, Microsoft, UnitedHealth Group (Optum), Shell and Udaan.
8. Amazon, Bain Capability Network, Deloitte USI, GamaSec, Pidilite Industries and Outlook group made the maximum number of offers this year.
