ABG, a part of living society
An Indian multinational premium global private conglomerate Aditya Birla Group is in the League of Fortune 500. It has engraved its presence on a wide range of sectors like - metals, cement, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilizers, financial services, telecom, BPO, IT services and many more. It is currently operating around 35 countries globally with more than 1,20,000 employees. The group had revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in the year 2018.
Aditya Birla Group was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. Since its inception, it has flourished in such a way that, in all my daily activities, I witness the imprint of Aditya Birla Group. The house we live in was constructed using the trustworthy Ultra Tech Cement which is a part of ABG. The apparels I use are purchased from Pantaloons store, which is a paradise for people like me who come from middle-class families, thinking to save every penny. ABG has its own brand named People and it also has Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England added to its wardrobe. The car tyres we use are made by ABG’s Carbon. The telephone network we use, Vodafone Idea Limited is an Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group partnership and is the second-largest globally. Hindalco Aluminium is used in making the cover glass of my cell phone which protects my phone’s screen.
By making into all the above sectors, it justifies its tagline as promised– “Taking India to the World”.
Success is not a Destination, It’s a Journey
I was born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, to a middle-class family who was dreaming about my career since I was in my mother’s womb. The moment I was out of it into a challenging society, like a cliché way, my father decided to make me an engineer since I was a boy. If it was a girl, he might be dreaming of her career as a doctor. I have completed my schooling with 9.2 CGPA and the very next day, I was thrown into a college for my IIT JEE preparation. Here comes my biggest challenge, I was never into an IIT JEE coaching as many of my friends had it in their schooling. I used to be dumb in the class always thinking of my future and my father dreams. I spent many sleepless nights crying alone assuming I am not up to the mark. It had already been a few months joining the college and I did not gain any knowledge regarding my subjects. Then came a lecturer who inspired me a lot, he said that nobody is born intelligent and practice made them till here. The one-sentence which he told me, that I will never forget throughout my lifetime. “Live your dream. Don’t get disappointed by the competition as it is present everywhere, and the situation becomes more difficult if you try to escape. Fight with yourself”. Since then I focussed on my goal and finally made it into IIT Dhanbad. My joy knew no bounds when I heard the news and I thanked my lecturer wholeheartedly. My Journey is not yet completed. I made a pathway and I am driving through it.
