A memorable classroom experience at IIM Trichy!
College days are the best days of one's life and memories which we gather here have a special place in our heart. Among all the memories classroom experience finds a special place.
It was my first day in IIM Trichy. Usually, before the class starts faculty tells us about the course contents, books we will follow, grading system, projects etc. but here in IIM Trichy my experience was different, when the faculty entered the first thing he asked us was to forget for a moment that he is the professor but think of him as a senior friend who has been through the same journey where we are today.
He started by asking about our takeaways from the induction program and told us that the whole induction program was designed in such a manner that we get some insight on what skills are required to be a manager. He told his personal experience when he started his MBA, he told us the difference in system of education what was followed until under graduation and what is being followed in B schools especially IIMs, he emphasized that most important thing here is to do pre-reading before coming to the class and how this will make us prepare for corporate world, he told us about how important it is to study the case studies and how we will learn from the class discussion on case studies , he told us about the importance of group projects and assignment and how the skills we gain from group tasks will help us become better managers . He ended by saying that believe in you being the wisest person sitting in this room, don’t consider yourself less than anyone else and give you best.
Later he told that it took him 6 weeks to realize what approach to take to tackle the change in teaching pedagogy and the difference in education system anywhere and IIM and the cost he paid for this was losing his gold medal because he ended up at 2nd positions because he couldn’t clear the gap which was created in term1. He asked us to not repeat the mistake he did and learn from his mistake.
All these learning which he gave and the way he turned from professor to a senior friend was really amazing and inspiring. I was a memorable classroom experience which I got in my first class at IIM Trichy.

Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank commenced operations as a payment bank from February 22, 2018. Reserve Bank of India is expecting payment banks to target the low income households of the country, people who have no or very less access to banking services and rather than following the tradition approach to reach customers payments banks are expected to reach customers mainly through mobile phone.
With such guidelines I can contribute into several roles in Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank, with my skills in finance, management, technology I can contribute to core banking solution which Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank provides to its customers. Also as part of CSR and voluntary contribution i will always be ready to visit village located in remote parts of the country informing the people benefits they will get if they are part of banking system and also help them in learning how to use mobile for banking solution. With this we will fulfil both task of Government of India to push for financial inclusion and expanding the reach of Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank.
There are many success stories of Payment technologies for example in Kenya, Vodafone M-Pesa is being used by two third of adults to store money. I am sure with such initiatives we will also set examples for other countries to follow.
