Aditya Birla Group, a conglomerate that has collective and coordinated growth imbibed in its genes, has always been at the forefront of initiatives that have transformed India into a global powerhouse. It has been successful in leaving an imprint on the lives of almost every individual including me and my family. The first wedding my family actively participated in almost 30 years had an emotional watermark of Aditya Birla Group all over it. My elder brother, clad in a Van Heusen suit, looked every bit the prince our family wished him to be. My sister-in law as a manager in Idea cellular co-incidentally had her fifth work anniversary on the day of the reception. The financial aspect of any big fat Indian wedding can never be ignored and Aditya Birla Capital hand held my father through the last decade which culminated in efficient financing of my MBA as well as my brother`s marriage in the same month. Liva would get a special mention for its exclusive collection of female fashionwear that served its purpose to the core for my dear sisters as they dazzled through the auspicious evening with enough oomph to break many hearts. As my sister-in law was welcomed into our house, my mother and father were teary eyed as they reminisced the emotions which they had mixed with the granules of Ultratech cement to build this small heaven called ‘home’. A happy family is all one wants and Aditya Birla Group is surely going to feature within the smiles in the photo frame of our memories.
How I overcame challenges to begin a journey in a B-School
My life has so far seen its fair share of ups and downs. Over a period of time, I have started to address them as pitstops instead of speed breakers on this wonderful race for calmness amidst chaos. One such pitstop that would soon turn out to be an extended fuselage issue was the unexpected contraction of jaundice during my tenure at my previous organization. The timing could not be more inauspicious as I worked in the education sector and the peak moments of my treatment schedule coincided with the beginning of the new academic session. It was our inaugural year as a fully-fledged centre at the new location so delay in the process was not an option. Deciding to take a leap of faith, I stood up for my professional duties while keeping a tab on my personal medications and successfully converted a record number of enrolments for our team amongst all the setups that our organization had throughout the country. Those few weeks taught me the importance of time management and prioritization which eventually helped me in converting a B-school of repute after clearing the dreaded CAT exam. Therefore, I reiterate the words of Aung San Suu Kyi “I would always think challenges are interesting and make you a better person” as my closing statement.
