PART A

ADITYA BIRLA GROUP - a name in India that needs no introduction has been a part of Indian economy for more than one and half centuries now and has really touched the lives of millions not only in India but on a global platform. Founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, the group today is a multinational conglomerate catering multitudes of sectors namely - viscose staple fibre, metals, cement (largest in India), viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbonblack, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. The group today has marked its presence in 34 countries across 5 continents and is continuously flourishing since its inception.

As already said, ABG somehow or the other has marked its presence in almost everyone’s life, mine story is also the same. Out of numerous feathers under its cap, Louis Philippe is one brand that I dread the most. Going by its tagline, Louis Philippe undoubtedly is a statement of elegance and class. For me a brand showroom of LP is one stop shop for all my clothing needs. Smart casual is what I prefer to wear and no other brand I see offer that aura in their clothing line as LP does. LP, Is not just a clothing line for me it’s a feeling for me. The story behind this has a lots of love and emotions bound to it. from the very time I gained wisdom to choose my clothes myself, I always wished to buy brands like Mufti, Allen Solly, LP etc. but coming from a middle class family that desire never got fulfilled so easily. A pair of jeans and shirt worth rs.5000 seemed so hefty. It was after I got my first salary I bought myself LP products and that was a day of utter happiness for me. Even today, I save my pocket money and buy myself a LP shirt once in 4 months.

PART B

Everybody have their stories of struggles and success and I too also have many, but the most important one that I would like to share goes like this. Being a studious fellow all my life I have always been in top 3 amongst the batch be it the k-12 education or the graduation. After passing 10th standard, I was very much inclined to Commerce sector and dreamt of being a Chartered Accountant. But under some peer pressure and family pressure as well, my dreams succumbed and I took Science (Medical) stream as my parents wanted me to become a doctor. I soon realised that Biology was not my cup of tea and my 11th standard went like hell. In 12th things started falling place and I started enjoying Biology. Other subjects were already going smooth and I always used to top in Physics in various examination conducted by the school. It was time for boards exam and my preparation was on track. I still remember my first exam was of Physics and that day I realised that when confidence turn into overconfidence it can be very lethal. I was not able to complete my exam on time and left question worth 11 marks which I could have easily attempted if I had five more extra minutes. I cried a lot after the exam and that was the day I learnt a great lesson. Next was Chemistry exam, I wasn’t that prepared, my confidence was already shattered, I gave the exam and boom!! I scored 98 marks in it and this was when I got to know that overconfidence can break you to anything.
