Part A: For years, ABG has focused on delivering value to all the stakeholders. I have been a part of ABG as a customer of their fashion and lifestyle brand, Pantaloons. This is an extremely valuable contribution of ABG in my life because my sister is a shopaholic! She gets all different kind of variety there and I don’t have to wander around different places, be it clothes, shoes, bags, belts, purses, socks and what not! It’s a one-stop solution for anything related to fashion and the marketing strategies and schemes convert the prospects into potential customers. With their presence in more than 750 cities in India, ABG has successfully reached almost everyone keeping in mind the purchasing power of people, thus empowering them and boosting the economy as well.   Another most important interaction with ABG is through Life Insurance Policy. We all understand how important one’s life is, more than the cover realized through the loss of life they provide a sense of security which helps millions of people to sleep peacefully and live carefreely. I have a Life Insurance policy with The Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Co. and hence I have been following their claim settlement rate. It is impressive how they have managed to progress every year by improving the claim settlement ratio year on year in spite of being a private insurance provider. This is how ABG has made my life simple and easy, not to forget their contribution in Aluminium and use of it in our daily lives as well as in the manufacturing Industry.

Part B: I was going to join a Tier 3 college for my post-graduation diploma in management and everything was in its place and decided. I had taken education loan like most of the students and had decided which committee or clubs in the college I will join. Then one fine day a mail popped in my account, I got selected for post-graduation diploma in management from one of the prominent colleges and I felt an adrenaline rush. I told this exciting news to my parents and they started telling me to go for the tier 3 college and started influencing me against my decision to join that prominent college. I had to pay the fees of a million rupees within 3 days of receiving the mail from that college and I was being told to comprise my entire future for that. I had already taken a loan and I am a fresher so no savings, hence my parents' decision played a prominent role in this situation. I almost got convinced that Ok since I can’t do anything about it or this situation is not in my control, I will let it go. However, the next morning I asked myself what will I miss out if I let this go and started calculating the opportunity costs. The cost was too high to ignore and since I was the one who was going to be affected by this, I decided to do something. I talked to the branch manager of my bank and failed, I talked to my dad again about what can we do and I failed again. It was the feeling at the end of the day that I am not destined to get what I wanted. Now it is the last day to pay the fees otherwise the offer will go to the next student in the waiting list. I was feeling my desired future slipping through my hands like sand. I told myself that there has to be a way out for this and I was determined to find that out because my whole future was at stake and I managed to pay the fees by the end of the day, keeping all the stakeholders happy.
