I very vividly remember the very first time idea rolled out the 3G services in kanpur,it was obviously the pre merger days where a teenage aayush was growing up and was completely fascinated by this new technology enhancements and went to insist my parents to upgrade their sim to 3G to be able to use the newly rolled out services.
It was a surreal experience because at that time even downloading a simple jpeg would even take a lot of time which was completed normal until i used the 3G experience of idea ,although in the nascent stages of rollout but still completely ledt me shell shocked that it didn't took me much time and then i had the mischievious part within me came to the fore and took over me and so whenever my dad or mom would do a 249 recharge for a gigabyte of data ,i would be the one who would be in a trance the wholetime and would be stuck on the different websites specially zedge.net to download punky and new ringtones for my mom's new phone 3G enabled phone .
It just grew on me and it was an indispensable tool and the "jugalbandi" between the the networking technology and the phones improved leaps and bounds to a new height and it is at a place where a 12 year old aayush would have never imagined about but it was commendable job by aditya birla group to speed up the process to close the gap between the network operators in the US and that of India in the post 2G days to bring 3G .
It was quite an objective view with a tunnel vision on 3G but that was something that fascinated me the most considering a boy who didn't quite have that level of exposure that i have now so that's why it was a huge deal for me considering the geekyness inside me just exploded with that rollout.
