Aditya Birla Group is a name that every household is familiar with. Even in the remotest of areas, people know ABG as Birla. This depicts how successful the Aditya Birla Group has been in making it’s stand in the market as well as among the common mass. Aditya Birla Group has been successful in making a mark in my life as well. My brother has always had a love for brands and branded apparels since childhood. I, on the other hand, have not had the same preference. He would always hail about brands such as Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe and others of the similar kind, Peter England being his favorite and would always try to convince me how “his” brands were superior to my ordinary outfits and it was quite intimidating.
Once I let go of my stubbornness as I couldn’t resist the urge to try the Peter England's shirt of my brother and I was amazed. The quality of the fabric, the touch of the cloth to my skin, it was something really different that I had never experienced before. After that incidence, I have never looked back, I went on to try the brands as suggested by my brother and they never let me down.
Till date, I still buy my outfit from either of the brands of the ABG group, so much so that when I went on to pursue my graduation in BBA in 2016, my entire wardrobe consisted of these brands and will continue to be the same in the future.
Well, the transition in 2016 was a major turn in my life. It was the first time I had left home and moved to a hostel. Also, the transition from doing my intermediate in Science to taking up BBA as my choice of course for graduation was the most life changing decision I had taken up.
It was clear in my mind that I don’t want to go for B. Tech as a career option and ultimately I wanted to do an MBA and thus I arrived at the decision of doing my graduation in BBA. But as I did my intermediate in science, and not commerce, grasping on to the concepts of BBA was a bit difficult for me in the beginning. But thanks to the group of friends I made in college in the initial days who really went to great lengths to help me out in understanding the curriculum. Very often, we would meet up at Bhubaneswar's Pantaloons Food Court for studying where they would make me understand the concepts and I would treat them in the food court there. After our study sessions got over, we would go to the play zone there and play air hockey till late and then return to the hostel for self study. This schedule went on for a few weeks and in no time I started to actually understand what all was being taught in the classroom and by the time the first semester exams came around, I was one among the top 10 in my batch. Our study sessions at Pantaloons were not needed anymore because the motive was achieved but still we would go there quite often for food, games and shopping together. Even now, when our graduation is over, Pantaloons is the spot we choose to reunite with our friends and relive those old memories of our early days of graduation.
