If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you will probably want to know is how to prepare for the company. Odessa Technologies, a leasing software company are dedicated to provide leading technology and business process solutions to their client. The first thing I did was a research about the company through its website and read about the products, management and culture. There were 3 rounds- Group Discussion followed by two interview rounds. In the GD I was speaking on the topic to the point and was very confident because what I feel is, they looked for confidence and clarity and how well you can speak on the topic.
After the GD, there was interview. A day before I had brushed up my knowledge on financial accounting and read about leasing journal entries. In the interview I was asked about basic accounting concepts and were told to write journal entries. They also asked me about their products and what I know about it. After this round was cleared and next and the final round of interview was with the CEO of the company. Before the interview I had learnt more about the leasing industry, more on lease accounting and some financial concepts. During this interview I was asked questions about technology, journal entries, then I was asked questions on economics, how rates of one country affect the other and few other things. Finally, I cracked the company.
After a few days my internship got started and we were given training on SQL and the company software. The training went on for 3 weeks and after that we were deployment to the project on which we would be working. My project was on a foreign bank and had to meet their standardized and customized requirements. I was told to do a hands-on on the company's software so that I can know about it and later on fulfil the customer requirements. I was told to read about the various modules of the software and through this reading try an understand how the software worked. After the hands-on training was done, I was given the clients requirements to work on. There were standardized requirements which had to be explained to the clients. Also, there were customised requirements which needed a little customization in the standard software. The client gave us their requirement and we had to look for a way through which our software could be customized and fulfil their requirement. Overall it was a good experience in the company. I learnt about a lot of things like SQL which in past I had not learnt. The work culture was very good. People over there were approachable. Here I would like to give a special mention to my mentor who constantly helped me and gave me tasks which were new and interesting. He was always willing to help me in whichever manner he could. Also, not only my mentor but also my team were always there to help. I really learnt a lot of new things during my internship.
