PART 1

There are people who spend millions to find inner peace and then there are people for whom Home is the real peace. When you come from a small background, you value each bit of happiness that you found around yourself. I too have this type emotion in me, first own home, first friend, first school, a first crush who can forget all these things and everyone their respective firsts to be special. Walking down the memory lane it was the year 2010 when my father finally thought of having our own home, I still remember how blunt and emotionless face of my father was full of pride and happiness on that day, we all made our own imaginations that we will have our own separate rooms, playing are and much more(you can't expect much from a 14-year-old). But reality never pleases your imagination, there was a contest of thoughts between two generations of the family as it hardly happened that all of us came to conciseness about anything. On one fine Sunday morning Papa said to me “chl market chalte hain” , in middle of my thoughts I sat on the back seat of his scooter and we ended at the shop of Aggarwal uncle (Aggarwal uncle is one of the family friends and he deals in-stock material for building). We sat and talked about our plan with him and enquired about the various cement available, he talked us through various companies and types available in the market. Me on the other side being me said “papa I want the Engineer’s choice cement for our home – Ultratech Cement”, and God knows how but he agreed with me on the decision. Why I put up this incident have two reasons first it was our first own home and I wanted best for my home and secondly till date, it was one of the few incidents when I and papa were on the same page. Thank you UltraTech Cement, Thank you Aditya Birla Group.

PART 2

Born and brought up in a business family is a two-way road, you get to learn many things from childhood itself and at the same time you have the inbuilt responsibility to enhance your business. Hello everyone! Let me introduce you myself Shivam Gupta to the world, an average guy having average academics, average in sports, average in many things. Sometimes I feel the phrase “The Jack of all trades and master of none” was written for me only. Having a clear mission in the mind to increase the family business I thought it will be nice that first I should gather some technical knowledge as it will help my cause, so I ended up writing CAT-17. As I said earlier, imaginations and expectations hardly meet reality, I scored less than average percentile in the exam and wondered what future beholds for me. At the time of my struggle I meat many people and pandits who all have their own thought process and wanted me to follow their suggested path, to be honest, there were few close calls that would have misled me, even my family members wanted that I should think of government job now, after hearing words from everyone , the final decision was mine. I asked myself either to believe in myself, my dream and take the risk or opt for other way wondering the whole life, What if I have listened to myself?

I took the struggle part and here I am pursuing my dream . :)
