Why Aditya Birla is big in my life:

The day I joined my B-School XIMB, the mantra of my life became "work hard play hard". I joined here intending to improve myself in various aspects. So that tomorrow when I graduate, I am not lost in the crowd. The first thing, which I learned after coming here is how important self-grooming is. Your attire has to compliment your personality. This is where ABG has come for my rescue, Brands like Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Pantaloons and Forever 21 have enabled me in achieving a perfect business look for my placement season. The variety I got to select from was immense. Finally, I managed to buy two business formals, one is the classic black from Allen Solly and another one is elegant grey from Van Huesen. After all, "if you look good, you feel good".

Also, If I go down my memory lane and go back from my b-school days to school days. I can still recall the fresh aroma that filled my classroom after I opened my precious Lunch box. My mother would pack yummy lunches like aloo ke paratha, paneer aur chapati, sandwiches, etc. and all of it would stay fresh and tasty thanks to the ABG brand Freshwrapp. One more peculiar thing my mother still does is that she wraps spoons in ABG Freshwrapp, I am not sure why she does it but one thing I know for sure that this is essential in our household and it makes life easier for everyone.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambition in life so far:

We face challenges every day, after n rejections, we get one acceptance. This is my story too be it b school admissions, college placements, a promotion at work, I have experienced quite some amount of rejections. The challenge here is to keep moving forward and not losing hope both in your self and the universe. I believe and practice the first step to overcome rejection is to accept the rejection. I try not to bury my emotion saying "it's okay" or "bad luck", I sit and experience the disappointment. For this acceptance stage, I usually write my feelings down or just share it with someone close. Once all the emotions are out, the next step is to question. I ask myself why did I get this reject, where did I go wrong, how do I correct this mistake. Asking these questions is important, and its only from introspection one can get the answers. To get to an answer, I revisit my actions at a very minute level. I write them down and then discuss with someone experienced or with someone successful with that task in the past. This ultimately helps me in deciding what exactly needs to be corrected. Then, the last stage is to correct myself, I work hard and I make sure my mistakes are not repeated. This way next time, I make some new mistakes and then again learn from them.

Today, I am here at XIMB -pursuing my MBA. I had not performed well in my first attempt so I learn from my mistakes and gave it again. I failed in a few b-school interviews, so I again learned from them and now I am here, in a b-school which was my best call among all the b school interview calls I received.

Life is a game of acceptance and rejections, we all have to just keep playing it and try to enjoy it. Let the mantra of our life be "Just Keep Swimming"
