Why Aditya Birla Group is Big in My Life: I have always been a lover of nature. In this daily humdrum of life, whenever I get a chance to savour the beauty, I rush to extract it. And the best place for me to satiate it is my Grandfather's village. It is a small rural area with at the most 30 families living peacefully. I can remember an incident which I will never forget. In the year 2002, I visited my Grandfather’s home in that rustic village with my parents during summer vacation in school. I fell ill and had to stay there for a longer period. The Monsoon came and it was vociferous. Our home was an ageing mud hut. I can remember how my family members protected me when the mud hut got destroyed in incessant rain that year. We were like homeless in our own dwindled home. Then only my family members decided to build a structured house of rods and cements. I am always curious about knowing new names. I asked my father what is the name of the cement company. He told me it is "UltraTech". That time the name only sufficed my curiosity but now I know how big it is in my life. This is not the story of mine only. This is the story of millions of Generation Z people in our India. Back then I was only satisfied with the name " UltratTech". Now on the premise of writing this article, I only can reminisce that story which will be the part of my life in Three Score years and Ten. And now I know how grateful I am to Aditya Birla Group. Even before my entering into a B-school, I had unknowingly used ABG products. I had used Peter England business formals in my interviews. I had used trendy Allen Solly shirts to attend birthday party with friends. And biggest of them all, I want to share is I gifted a Louis Philippe formal attire to my father after receiving my first salary. Honestly speaking, I didn't know it belonged to ABG. Now, I know how big the brand is this ABG and realise how it was part of my growing up with time. Now I can realize how ABG group is shaping the new "Smart " India with its wide range products, be it banking sector, be it fashion, be it Chemical and Carbon black Industry. And this is fact that ABG is part of building this newer India.

How Have I made an Impact:

I want to rewind the play back in 2016. I was freshly pass out from my undergrad college and joined a reputed company as a management trainee. From my childhood, I always wanted to help the people in need. I was brought up in a typical middle class family and I have watched people of my age living in slum areas and how difficult it is for them to make ends meet. So as I grew up, that inherent tendency to help the needy grew further too. So, it was that year in 2016 that me and my two closest friends were shopping for our biggest festival Durga Puja as a bengali ritual. I saw some poor kids were standing beside the glass of an apparel shop contemplating on the mannequins clad in glamorous clothings. That moment I decided that i will help them no matter what. We bought them new shirts and they were extremely happy. After that we decided to form a group to help the poor and underprivileged people of our society. The mission was big but we were not confidant of pulling it off. we were thinking about where to start. We needed a platform and for that we needed financial firepower. Then after discussion, we planned that we would save a small amount everyday in a piggy bank method and after six months it would be quite a sum. And with that sum, we could buy clothings and books for the poor children. Some more school friends agreed to join us and initially it was a team of nine friends. Me and other two friends were doing decent jobs but other were still studying. But they decided to help us in this cause. So, with a small fund and a big dream in our eyes, we organised an event in April,2017 to distribute clothings and books in our small locality. But we immediately met a problem. There were so many people living in poverty and how we could help all of them. Then, one of the guardian of my friend came to our rescue. She used to teach in a rural school just outside our locality and there were 50 odd children in that school. So finally we selected those little children and helped them with clothings and books. Their joy was surreal. Their smile was most delicate thing I have seen in my entire life. That day I was really proud of myself. The event was a big success and we garnered appreciation from our teachers, friends and also from social media. Then, we wanted to make it even bigger next time. My other friends and juniors from school showed their willingness to join our group. We were delighted our family was increasing. Then, we decided to organise another big event before 2017 Durga Puja. But to make it successful, we needed fund.Surprisingly, some local shop owners and businessman approached us to pull off an event and they were ready to donate money for the noble cause. So this challenge was sorted. The next challenge was to find a proper place to arrange the big event. So, we approached local cultural centre and the authority embraces us knowing our noble objective. So, finally with 35 members and infinite enthusiasm, we celebrated the event. This time we chose daily wage labourers and their families from a brick kiln factory. We distributed new clothings, food. And joy and smile on their faces were never to be forgotten. So, this is our story. This is the story of our social group '"Let's Do Something " with a vision to help and support the poor unconditionally. Now, we are 65 strong members and growing.
