After studying vigorously for months (CAT it is!) and scoring comes the herculean task of cracking your dream college interview and with pandemic shifting the interview process online you are bound to get cold feet  . While most college's conducted interview via ZOOM , SJSOM used GATHER platform which was a welcome move. The platform with its unique capabilities and UI allowed one to have an avatar and experience the virtu(real) experience closest to what an offline interview could offer. We were divided in groups according to our profile and alloted an Interview Buddy who broke the ice amongst us and facilitated networking within group. There were two parallel process one for interview and other for document verification and Interview buddy made sure we sailed through each smoothly.

Lets get to business now,

The panel consisted of three people , one proffesor from SJSOM of the domain I listed as my interest on the application form and two alumni's . My interview went for 15-20 mins and it covered everything from my domain of interest (Marketing) , work experience to research paper I had published in IEEE

Question 1 - Introduce yourself

Question 2- Why marketing ? Why not sales?

Question 3- Difference between them

Question 4 - Given a scenario and asked me to give some marketing strategies

Question 5 - Describe a difficult situation at workplace and how you managed it?

Question 6 - Brief us about your research paper

Question 7 - Some more questions regarding specifics of research paper

Question 8 -Questions on my undergraduate summer internship

I was able to answer all the questions farely well except the marketing part with minor hiccups , but whats an interview with no hiccups.

My experience of the interview was really good with the admission team and the platform getting everything right to the T! and loads to learn for an aspiring MBA candidate. After interview I shared my interview experience with rest of the group and left the process with a satisfied smile. I was waitlisted but knew would convert owing to the past trends and did so too.
