This year due to pandemic, interviews were going to be held online, I had attended interviews of some other prestigious B Schools and I thought for SJMSOM also interviews will be on Zoom call or some other video conferencing application. Later admission team introduced us to Gather platform, it was exciting as no other B School took this kind of initiative and I just wanted to know more about it. Gather platform really made Interviews more engaging and fun, it provided us the opportunity to interact with fellow candidates as well as with admission team members. For interviews every aspirant was grouped according to his/her profile and interviews were taken by a professor of that domain (I was not sure who will be in the interview panel in my case as I am not from a core engineering branch).

There were three members in the panel (Two professors and one alumni)

Professor 1

·       Good morning Jay, How are you?

·       Tell me something about yourself which you didn’t mention in the form

·       So, you are from MHOW, tell me something about it

·       What is the distance between MHOW to Indore and MHOW to Dewas

·       Tell me something about Dr. BR Ambedkar- Told (MHOW is also known as Ambedkar Nagar)

Professor 2

·       Why and when you decided to go for MBA

·       (Asked some technical questions)

·       Who is the current governor of Puducherry

·       Who was the governor of Puducherry before her

Alumni

·       Jay, tell me how you ensure safety in your plant as workers don’t tend to follow Safety rules while they are working alone

·       What will you do to motivate workers to follow safety rules

·       If you do MBA then your entire work experience will go to waste, so why you want to do MBA

My interview was ended and I really enjoyed being interviewed, all members of admission team were very friendly and helpful and they helped us to ease down our nervousness. It was an amazing experience and I enjoyed every bit of it.
