Compared to any other, among the interviews I attended, SJMSOM created the most creative and engaging experience to me as an interviewee. They used platform called “GATHER” for the interview process, however they integrated with zoom calls wherever necessary.

I was directed to complete the document verification process before the start of interview process. After the document verification, when my turn came, I was asked to move to the interview channel, which was a zoom link.

Though I had the mixed feelings of enthusiasm and nervousness during the whole process, our seniors [who were coordinating the process] helped me to calm down. Before getting into the interview, I had a chat with the seniors who were assisting us & I got some insights about the environment in the interview process.

On my turn, right after I connected to zoom platform, unfortunately I had power cut, due to which I got disconnected from the call. I thought that is my end of the interview and I lost it without attempting it. I switched to mobile data and tried to reconnect to the interview and panelists were kind enough to allow me to the interview.

Two panelists who seems quite and composed were ready to start my interview process. Here my interview starts. As I don’t want to mention the names of the panelists, let’s consider them as interviewer-1 & interviewer-2.

Interviewer-1: Tell me about yourself.

My Response: Told my well-prepared traditional answer. Told that I was working in Tata consultancy services as a software employee.

Interviewer-1: As you are from IT background, tell me the impact of automation on job opportunities to humans.

My Response: Briefed my opinion on it, summarizing that automation is a positive sign to improvement in quality and with automation, there will be requirement of newer roles to develop and maintain the automation processes & this will compensate the jobs lost due to replacement of manual work with automation. I concluded that the net effect would be zero.

Interviewer-2: As you are from south India, you should be knowing about A Raja & H Raja. Could you please throw some light?

My Response: I had no idea about the scam which went on. I have tried to relate with the people such as Devineni Raja, who was the faction leader in Andhra Pradesh. When I understood that my answer is not relating to the question they asked, I said that I’m not aware.

Interviewer-2: Asked about my extra circular activities and achievements.

My Response: Talked about my involvement in an NGO and my participation in events in my degree college.

They concluded by asking few technical questions, which I answered correctly.

Final Verdict: Waitlisted and then converted.
