Me - There were multiple reasons for resigning, the main being that I want pursue MBA. Secondly, since pandemic, things have changed and the rate of work has slowed down substantially. Thirdly, I am trying to make an income out of the stock market.
Panelist 1 - Income? Do you know the difference between income and returns?
Me - Yes sir. I am not talking about my investments but trading income which I generate from F&O
Panelist 1 - Would you please explain how are you doing it? (He was clearly intrigued)
Me - Sir, I am working on a strategy to make 4-5% per month on my capital employed. In some good months it may exceed my expectations but I am trying to keep the crazy bull run in last one year out of the scenario and focusing on my strategy.
Panelist 1 - Kindly tell us the strategy that you are adopting
Me - I explained the strategy giving examples
*The panelist questioned me really well on my strategy from which I got an indication that he definitely has a good knowledge about the stock market and especially F&O segment.*
Panelist 1 - What is your source of learning?
Me - Sir, I follow a lot of YouTube channels and I read from Varsity by Zerodha
Panelist 1 - Okay, tell me what is CE and PE?
Me - Sir, it is an abbreviation for Call European and Put European. When we are bullish we buy CE..
*Panelist 1 interrupts me in between*
Panelist 1 - Define CE, I want to know its definition
Me - Sir, I don’t know the exact book definition but I can definitely explain it using an example
Panelist 1 - No, I just want its definition.
Me - I am sorry sir, I don’t know the exact book definition.
*After a few more questions related to my strategy the second panelist took over. He could just ask me one question since there was connectivity issue from his side. Pardon me, I don’t remember his question but it was regarding some terminology in stock market which I never heard off. I politely excused myself and told him that I am not aware of such a term.*
The third panelist took over..
Panelist 3 - So Mohit, are you aware about the current affairs? Do you follow news?
Me - Yes ma’am. Since I trade actively, I am aware of the daily affairs.
Panelist 3 - Okay, so tell me what is going on currently apart from Covid 19?
*I was blank for a second as I tried to recollect the current affairs*
Me - Umm.. Ma’am, Joe Biden has announced that masks aren’t mandatory for vaccinated people in the public anymore.
*The West Bengal state elections going on at the same time had completely slipped out of my mind*
Panelist 3 - Do you know the vaccines manufactured in India?
Me - Yes, Covishield and Covaxin.
Panelist 3 - Do you know who manufactures them?
Me - Covishield is manufactured by Serum Institute and Covaxin by Bharat Biotech
Panelist 3 - Do you know what technology are they using?
Me - Umm, no ma’am but I recently read a report that Covaxin has over 95% efficacy even against the deadly Indian variant of coronavirus.
Panelist 3 - Okay. So tell me why should we hire you? Do you have anything else to tell?
Me - Ma’am when I was joining engineering, my father had asked me that why do you want to become an engineer? Do you aspire to be one?
I didn’t have any answer to his question that time because all my friends were going to pursue engineering and I thought why not. But engineering taught me more than just engineering.
Today, after completing four years of engineering and working for two years, I definitely know I want to pursue MBA. It’s not just about another degree, I want to learn from the experiences of the professors, read case studies, meet and interact with intellects, learn from the experiences of my fellow batchmates. MBA to me is more than just another degree.
Panelist 3 - Thank you for your time, Mohit.
Me - Thank you.
Verdict - Converted SJMSoM!
