With a legacy of 150+years ABG is the  name that most Indians resonate with. It is a story of how we as a country grew and evolved  over the century, taking baby steps and turning into a giant well established business. What ABG does is builds dreams, gifts hopes and  dresses our desires in style for the world to know that we have arrived  and we are here to stay.

ABG's business spans  across various realms of life, ranging from agribusiness, chemicals,  wind energy to clothing & apparel, retail, telecom and e-commerce to  name a few. Although ABG touches millions of lives in different ways, its appareal brands are closest to my heart. Reason for this is simple, because I have grown up with them everyday. For the days when i was busy searching for myself, trying to establish my identity Pantaloons had  the right look to offer me. Pantaloons made me the girl next door and  all with a style. For the days i wished to dress to impress, Forever came to my rescue. It made sure to re-establish my confidence with the turning heads and looks of admiration.

Though I shared thousands of moments with ABG apparels, but the most significant is the day i dressed for my first job interview. I wanted to  create an impression that lasts, impression that conveys that my dreams are big and efforts will never fall short. Allen Solly formals gave me the answer. Stepping in my business suit everything changed thereafter.  Those nervous jitters vanished and what came out was a crisp, smart and  confident girl who knew she can conquer the world. Ever since, Allen Solly and Van Heusen have been my companions because they understand me,  helping me each day to stand out of the crowd.

With  the introduction of Liva, ABG transformed the fashion statement. The  concept of Liva fabric connects with every youngster of this time. Vibrant and fluid to keep the energy level up while blending with the  diversity around. Liva became my comfort wear that lets me celebrate me.  Lastly, Ted Baker and The Collective set the goals for me. So looking at the ABG, helps me see where I am,  who I am today and where I want to  be.

This is just one story out of millions that  ABG has been creating around the world since century. Its the name that  marks India on the world map. ABG is the legacy well kept that keeps  growing, getting bigger and better each day.

Part B:  Winning through Self Belief <IMT Ghaziabad>

In our lives we all reach at a point where we have to make choices that define us for the rest of the lives. Times are always going to be tough but it is us who decide whether it is going to be situation of fight or flight for us.  I came across a similar situation early in my life, when I was 14. For a teenage girl at a tender age it is easy to get affected and influenced by what people think about her. It’s the age wherein world matters more than you matter to yourself. With an average look, dusky complexion and chubby body I was the centre of unwanted attention and jokes. Well it was all just humour for my friends and classmates. But to me it did matter. It affected my idea of self worth, my level of confidence and my own willingness to love & respect myself. These jokes and bullying started affecting my confidence and it made me feel that may be I was not really good enough. Maybe it’s always the looks that matter.  Hiding behind my books, I covered myself up in a little cocoon where the world cannot penetrate because I just was not good enough.

Things continued this way for almost a year and I started realizing how isolated I had kept myself because I had a fear. One day I came across this book named “Chicken soup for Teenage souls”. I read the stories and found out those were the real stories of kids like me who were prey to bullying, or even worse, there were stories of teenage rape victims, drug abuses, cancer survivors, and just so many other sufferings. Those were all children of my age who had real problems and the only thing common amongst them all was that they were fighters. They fought with their fears, they conquered their suppressors and they changed themselves for good.

Their stories hit me hard and the only thing I could feel was that if they can, then why cant I? It was that very moment when realisation set in me and I begun on my journey of transformation. I went on to become national level judo player of my school, topper of my class and school representative at almost all competitions. Most importantly, my bullies could never again gather the courage to tell me what my worth was because I knew it.

This incidence taught me to fight with my fear and to believe in myself. I came across lot many problems and challenges in life after that but somehow every time they just felt too small. Challenges became trivial to me since they day I discovered the weapon of self belief. If you believe in yourself and are willing to fight for it, no challenge can withstand your determination to win.
