From a very young age, due to the various situations that I have had to face due to the hardships in my family, I understood that being Independent and Self-reliant is one of the key aspects to get ahead in life. What could be a routine scenario in almost every household in India soon became one of the biggest challenges in my life.
When I was 15 years old, I was a typical carefree teenager with little know how about handling an entire household by myself. It all began with my family falling prey to Dengue, during which I had to primarily take care of all of them. Though it sounds like a trivial issue, those 1.5 months of juggling between my duties as a daughter and my studies was the beginning of the learning phase in my life. I learnt to take up responsibility and started multitasking.
Throughout my college life too, there were numerous instances of ill health of my parents, due to which I have burnt the midnight oil on many long nights in hospitals to ensure I successfully complete my degree.
Things have continued to be challenging till this very moment, with my mother battling a terminal disease while I am away from her, working towards my professional goals. It has been a rollercoaster ride, with most of my crucial nights being spent alternating between various hospitals, office and home, while continuing to focus on my goals. This has been a great experience in terms of my understanding about life, in developing my empathetic side and my ability to comprehend difficult situations and I am sure I will be able to apply the knowledge that I have gained from these experiences in the various challenges that might occur in the future. It has given me immense strength and courage to face any challenges heads on, without having the fear of failure.
