Overcoming challenges builds ones’ personality. It defines you and helps you understand your bounds and capabilities. Taking up a masters in management has always been a dream of mine. And I was very keen on having a few years of experience in the industry prior to taking it up. After my graduation, I was part of an MNC that helped me understand the real need for good managers. After some assessment I chose to do my masters in the US and started working hard for it.

Though it was hard at first, I was able to smoothly juggle my studies and the demanding nature of my work without falling back on either. I was finally accepted at a premier university and had planned to join there. In preparation to my travel, I had resigned from my job and was making last minute arrangements, when I fell ill with severe dengue fever. I was in the hospital for about a month and I was forced to forgo my admission.

Having come so close to realizing my dream, I was left shattered. But I was never a person who would give up on my dream that easy. Since I had resigned from my previous employment, I first had to find a job. With sheer perseverance, I started sending out my profile and connecting with multiple employers seeking a suitable job role. And finally, after 2 months I got a suitable job at another MNC. All the while, I was planning the next strike at achieving my dream of a masters. Weighing out the pros and cons of doing an MBA abroad in the current scenario, I came to a consensus that an MBA from a premier institute in India is what would suit me. The next few months were again challenging with the responsibilities towards my new firm and the preparation for CAT-2018. But I was able to do justice to both and I am now a proud Management Student.

Not once did I allow my setbacks to take the better of me. I had people all around me sympathize over my situation but I just smiled and fought my way through. My resilience to not give up on myself has always set me apart from the rest. I have learned to cope with any situation that comes my way with a smile.
