I can best describe myself as a phoenix.
I was born and brought up in Dhanbad, the coal capital of India in a joint family which instilled me with the ideas of synergy, unity, affection and care at the same time being industrious and competitive.
During my school and college days, I was decent in academics but was always high into extra-curriculars. Blood donation camps, celebrity events, book drives, teaching for an NGO, placement cells, dance, cricket were all the activities I did. I also held various positions of responsibilities like the school cricket team captain, House captain, Branding and Sponsorship Lead for my annual college fest, Vice-President for Leo Club and Public Relations Officer for Arts Club of BIT Sindri.
I was flying high and everything was going my way. I was living a star-piece of a life and was set to join my company. But life has its own way of putting things and on a fateful night I met with a car accident, It broke my femur bone and most importantly took a year and a half away from my ambitious career. I was bed ridden and went through two operations. More than the physical, it was the mental pain that was agonizing and tormenting. Anxiety and hopelessness had crept in. I had begun to burn from inside. I was feeling empty and preferred isolation. It seemed that all the happiness had gone away, the hope of regaining what I lost was looking timid.
But at the same time life taught me the greatest lesson of perseverance, it bought me out of the comfort zone , the bubble I was living in and made me realize the real me.
I fought through those times, every aspect of it, garnered courage, toiled even harder and set out to achieve what I wanted to.
I have risen from the ashes of misfortune, pain and agony to pick up the reins of life. I am ready for the flight of opportunity, knowledge, power and soar to greater heights. I am a phoenix!
