FMS is one the premier B-Schools of India with top notch faculties and facilities in the school. Along with having good facilities and faculty, a B-school should have an atmosphere which is conducive for the intellectual and creative development of its students. FMS provides just that.

FMS enjoys the privilege of being situated in the North Campus of Delhi University which is one of the most vibrant campuses in the country. Delhi University is home to a unique blend of umpteen prestigious institutions of India in various domains. It is safe to say that some of the best brains in the country study in the north campus, thus creating an atmosphere which leads to the overall growth of the students.

Apart from the location, what makes FMS stands out is the exceptional management by the student committees. FMS is an entirely student run campus. FMS has the best ROI in the country because of its nominal fees, which also creates a limitation in terms of the resources. However, this is never felt thanks to the student committees which run the campus so efficiently. The peer to peer learning, ROI and most of all the student bodies in and around FMS is what makes it unique.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-school

A memorable classroom experience for me is where I am able to actively participate in the learning process, interact with my peers and feel enriched after the session. At FMS, every classroom experience is just that for me.

FMS faculty members are renowned in their respective fields. FMS classroom experience is hardly a bookish one. The faculty backs all the concepts with ample examples from real life and encourages peer to peer learning by ensuring that every student participates in the discussion.

My first classroom experience came as a happy surprise when I realized that the lecture was actually just a friendly and healthy discussion among the students and the professor pitched in only when his expertise was required. Professor was aware of the blend of students from various streams and engaged the relevant field students whenever required. This made the whole classroom experience not only memorable but also a tremendous learning experience.

Introducing - some of my crazy batch-mates

FMS being one of the top institutions in the country, my batch mates are some of the best brains in the country. I would like to introduce some of the crazy ones.

Avni Kapoor is an economics graduate. She has stayed in Delhi University for the past three years and hence is my go-to person for any advice related to food joints or areas to shop nearby. She is very enthusiastic and sincere. She believes in giving her 100% when it comes to any tasks. She is chirpy and can’t stop talking about something she is passionate about.

Megha Gupta is commerce graduate from SRCC, Delhi. She is a unique blend of intelligent and crazy. I am sure everyone has seen her dance in the class. She has a zest for life which is difficult to find in most people.

Aditi Saini is another economics graduate who is bubbly and chirpy and knows how to enjoy in the most hectic of days. She has a great sense of humor, is helpful and is fun to be with.

Prakhar Gupta is popular in the class for asking smart questions. He is intelligent, funny and honest. He can stay calm in the worst of situations.

These are some of my crazy batch-mates who make the learning experience at FMS lively and enjoyable for me.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

I would like to work with Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Ltd. (ABSLAMC), which is an investment managing company, for two reasons. First is because it is one of the most trusted companies when it comes to investments. It is the largest non-bank affiliated asset management company in the country.  It is a joint venture of Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest Indian private sector conglomerates and the Sun Life Financials of Canada, one of the largest and oldest life insurance companies in the world.

Second reason why I want to work for ABSLAMC is my personal relationship with the company. I have been a customer of ABSLAMC for mutual funds. Birla Sunlife mutual funds are some of the highest returning mutual funds. This is among the first mutual funds I have invested in. I would like to gain some firsthand experience in the fields of market condition and become a fund manager after gaining expertise in the field.
