Role of Aditya Birla in my life
Well, the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear Aditya Birla Group’s name is fashion. Aditya Birla has made a big impression on the hearts of fashion and lifestyle enthusiasts by driving them to their fashion brands like Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe and Allen Solly globally. Their clothing material quality and design set them apart from other brands and this is the reason why Aditya Birla retail sector is one of the leading apparel business.
These brands have been very close to me in all the important events of my life whether it’s a life-changing job interview or a close cousin’s wedding function, an interview to get into XIMB or giving my first presentation. While working in the Sales domain, clothes you wear boost your confidence and motivates you to do better each day. Even when I made my first sale, Peter England was the comfort choice that I was wearing which has now become my most used and trusted brand that I look out for. Another personal favourite ABG product that I am well connected with is the Freshwrapp aluminium foil. From the tiffin box to playing cardboard cricket, Freshwrapp foil has kept our food fresh, warm and hygienic and also filled the gap of cricket balls. In school during lunch break, we used to make foil balls and play cricket with the cardboard bat.
Aditya Birla group has been constantly growing not only in India but globally as well and the reason behind its growth is its consistency in touching the hearts of millions of customers. I am sure that my association with ABG will get even stronger and will help me in my personal endeavours and occasions.
Challenge I overcame to achieve my ambition
Challenges are part and parcel of everyone’s life and overcoming those challenges are at times hard but makes you more confident to pursue and achieve better. One of the challenges that I faced was getting admission into a B-School and for that, you need to score well in CAT and giving your best in GD and PI. It all started when I was the final year of my graduation, took CAT coaching and managed to score 68 percentile only. I started working for Toshiba which boosted me more towards pursuing MBA and resigned from there to prepare for CAT. After my CAT examination, I was very disappointed with myself because I scored 81 percentile and did not get shortlisted for the colleges I applied to. This gap year affected me a lot as I was not able to materialize this preparation time to get into a good B-school and thought of dropping this MBA idea permanently. Although I was very dejected with the way things were happening, with no job in hand and no B-school converted, I kept on working hard and started applying for jobs with CAT preparation going on side by side. Even though there was a gap of more than a year I got multiple job offers but the pay scale was not good. So I joined Hitech Audio worked there as an unpaid trainee and bagged a good package job there based on my performance in the training period. This eventually encouraged me to work harder and scored 93 percentile last year. Finally, after 2 years of CAT preparation, I converted Ximb MBA-BM.
