Aditya Birla Group has been a vital cog in India’s progress post Independence. The arrival of affordable mobile telecommunication services was a revolution, today we have accessibility to a lot of services because of this telecom revolution. I distinctly remember the first mobile phone in our house and the network read Idea. We still have an Idea connection in our house, since it has a superior network quality, high speed wireless internet and affordable plans.

After years of hard work, when my parents decided to build their own house, I saw my father toiling day and night to assure timely completion and proper resource management. I saw the sacks of Ultratech cement in our house, although I never paid attention to it, I realized how much of Aditya Birla products have I used throughout the year. Its not only an association but a part of our lives.

The Aditya Birla Group (ABG) was established as Birla Group of Companies back in 1857. Post-Independence Aditya Birla Group  has grown exponentially, to list a few of their accomplishments, incorporation of Hindalco Industries which is an aluminum and Copper manufacturing company. Incorporation of Thai Carbon Black in 1978 and later acquisition of Columbian Chemicals Co. established them as the largest manufacturer of Carbon Black worldwide. In 1988, Aditya Birla Group partnered with Hindustan Petroleum to set up the Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited in Mangalore, Karnataka. Aditya Birla Group has a lot of brands like Pantaloons, Louis Philippe, Grasim Industries, Vodafone Idea, Aditya Birla Capital among many. Hence, it can be established that Aditya Birla Group has not only grown with the nation but also contributed heavily to its progress.

I belong to a middle-class family in Maharashtra, I grew up with my father, since my mother use to work in another city. I grew up watching my parents work hard throughout their lives to make ends meet. We would compromise on a lot of things, but the one thing they never compromised upon was my education. I would see them struggle, frustrated, lost and tired by the end of day, but the next day they would get back to life. Out of all the values imparted to me, the biggest learning I got from my family was to never give up. There have been instances where I failed to fulfill my expectations, lost my way and struggled, all I remembered was the advice to put my head down and keep working hard. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense, or the results are not immediate, but the results follow very soon and its creates a positive field around you.

I always had a problem of anxiety before any big exams or interview, which would make me nervous and as a result, I ended up performing below expectations. While I was discussing this with a friend, he asserted that the worst that could happen is I would fail to live up to the expectations, but this will only make me wiser but a better person. This discussion had an impact on me, slowly and steadily I started gaining control over my anxiety, as a result I gained confidence and significantly improved upon my personality and performance.
