SJMSOM, IIT BOMBAY INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE
By AARYA GAIKWAD
I have given many IIM interviews (all except A, B, C) and this was my best interview. Gather platform was very interactive and I did not feel it was anything less than an offline interview. SJMSOM, IIT B was the most punctual college in taking interviews and the overall process was smooth.
There were different rooms divided in the auditorium/ main hall and each room was assigned with a mentor. In between the process, they played tom and jerry to make us feel comfortable (it was very cool ? ).
During my day of interview, there were 168 people and 15 tables. The whole interview process was done within 3/4 days. I was first called for document verification and after that I shared the process with other students on my table. I asked my mentor my estimated time for the interview and I had 20 min so I ate Maggi just before my interview.
I was called for my interview and there were 3 panellists (2 from the finance domain & 1 was alumni, all were male).
- Introduce yourself within 2 min
- Okay. So you are from Nashik, tell me something good about Nashik.
- Why is Nashik the wine capital of India?
- Why it produces wine?
- So you have done 120 km cycling. Tell me about your route and experience.
- you have very good marks in your 10th & 12th. What happened in engineering?
- How much time you will take to acclimatize in IIT B?
- Lot of Electrical engineering questions.
- Which field are you interested in? Why? What is marketing? Give me 1 example where you have used marketing in real life.
- What are you going to do about your campus placement?
- tell me all P’s of marketing and who is the marketing guru?
- What calls do you have and tell your preferences?
- What is your backup plan?
Ok, it was nice talking to you. You may leave the call.
I shared my interview experience, filled the feedback form and left.
I could answer every question and the panellists were satisfied with my answers.
Verdict: Converted.
