SJMSOM interview experience was most unique and fun because they made use of the platform “gather” to make the virtual interview experience as close as to offline interview experience. We had nice options to select our own avatar, roam around the premises virtually and watch tom and jerry while waiting for our turn :)
We got good chances of interactions with people in the same group, the students coming back from their interviews that really helped keeping the nerves calm rather than blankly staring on the screen waiting for your turn.
My interview was basically focused on my Btech curriculum majorly because I am a fresher and from a branch of food technology that is quiet an unconventional branch. My interview started with me giving an introduction. The panellists were keen on knowing more about what I had studied, my practical knowledge of food industry, my internship project was something that they delved much into, some basic general knowledge questions from my field and a great emphasis on why did I want to go for an MBA after a Btech in Food technology. The topics that were touched upon include
- Revolutions in the food sector (green revolution, white revolution, etc)
- Plant based meat and milk industry (based on my internship project) - questions were based on challenges to bring these products in the Indian market, how can these products be successful in the Indian market and which are the big names and collaborations in this domain.
There were also a few very basic questions related to marketing (4 P's of marketing and explain with examples), supply chain management (challenges faced by the food industry in SCM) but that was because I had mentioned about studying them during my Btech while answering why I want to go for an MBA. Final few questions were some random general knowledge questions (Related to nobel prize winners in India). In all it was a great experience as there was no cross questioning and it seemed to be a sort of discussion where everyone was keen on knowing more.
I was wished all the best in the end and that marked the end of my interview.
