My Interview Experience at SJMSOM was one of the best, if not the best, interview experiences I have gone through during my entire B-school interview season. Despite the mode of the interview being online due to the ongoing pandemic situation throughout the country, SJMSOM was able to pull out the most interactive and efficient interview experience through a platform called “Gather”.
After we joined the Gather platform, we were divided into groups of 13 and we were assigned one adcom member to talk to and clear our doubts. The document verification took place seamlessly at one end of the Gather platform and simultaneously people were called out for the interview. Overall, a seamless experience with the new interface, thanks to the adcom members who were helpful at every step of the process.
Each interview panel had 3 members comprising of one Mechanical Engineering Professor of IIT Bombay, one Professor of SJMSOM, IIT Bombay, and one IIT Bombay Alumnus. I was asked to introduce myself, which was followed by in-depth technical questions revolving around my final year project. Then I was asked about the hot Current Affairs topic related to Farm Bill and the Budget. Then I was asked about Assam (I am from Assam) and the cultures in my state. The interview lasted for around 20-25 minutes. It was quite an interactive interview. I almost lost track of time.
Overall the platform experience of Gather and the supporting Adcom Members made the whole experience a fruitful one. It was an Amazing Experience.
